Could be docked points which would help our cause if we got dragged into a relegation battle.

You can only imagine that will be them gone for a few years. Down into the lower leagues. Or am I being over the top?
With my poor knowledge of administration/receivership/liquidation etc doesn't this mean that the 'receivers' now in charge of the club will flog off the clubs assets in order to pay the creditors?. Would this mean the players?.
"That is far from certain though. Birmingham City have reassured the League they can fulfil their fixtures, they are well run by the staff at St Andrew's and proved their financial stability by turning down a multimillion-pound offer for young star Demarai Gray last month."
Then they shouldn't have rejected it then should they? I would be seriously pissed if I was owed money by the club.
If the club is that badly run and isn't respecting the financial side of our football league and openly not meeting paying debts, then dock them.

Reading the BBC article there is no certainty they'll be deducted points, as the football club is not in liquidation rather the company who owns the football club is.
Seems like a ruse to me.
Would help our championship survival.

All assets including players that's what happens normally!
But depends on who owes the money? could be PLC or club really depends!

Sounds similar to the Southampton situation where the "Holding" Company went into administration, but in this case the "Holding" Company has gone into receivership which in my understanding means that any and all assets, including Birmingham City FC, will be sold to try and repay the debts of the "Holding" Company.
I think the FL will send thier finance experts into the club to see how close the links are and, like Southampton, if the links are close then expect a points deduction.

The receiver will sell Brum off and it will be very cheap too

They would be a good purchase for a foreign investor.
Nice ground, great group of good young players and a track record for developing them, big potential support.
If bought out of receivership could be done with a smallish fee and minimal debts.
