' CARL CURTIS WANTS CHANGE AT CARDIFF CITY '

The Owners and the Board to Sack Russell Slade.

"The football is uninspiring, there is no leadership and no signs of instruction or encouragement' - Carl Curtis

I don’t like the trend in football that a manager is sacked after a run of results and given very little time to turn his club's fortunes around.

But when change is so glaringly obvious, it takes a brave decision to be made and I strongly believe that Cardiff City must replace Russell Slade now.

I have always been of the mindset that a football club that has no stability and continuity will more often than not be a failure on the pitch, I don’t like the trend in football that a manager is sacked after a run of results and very little time to turn the fortunes around.

But when some things are so glaringly obvious then the decision to change takes a brave decision to be made and I strongly believe that Vincent Tan must make the decision to replace Russell Slade now.

We are in a relegation fight despite what the media friendly words that the Slade speaks, we have one of the worst current form records in the league and there is very little evidence that it is going to change anytime soon.

Slade was on a hiding to nothing coming to Cardiff, there are many problems off the pitch and the squad he inherited has been the subject of much debate whether it is balanced, overloaded and the right type of players were in the make-up of it, add to that the fact Slade has never managed at this level after serving as a boss in over six hundred games and that he was never at the forefront of Bluebirds fans minds when Ole was sacked, then he faced an uphill task from day one.

The football that is being played is totally uninspiring and thousands of supporters just cannot be bothered to turn up to sit there bored senseless by the display on the pitch.

There is no leadership on the pitch, there is no sign of instruction or encouragement from the technical area, I would go as far as to say there is absolutely no belief in the squad in what I hope they are trying to achieve.

Sadly for the manager the responsibility over results stops with him and with there being no sign of improvement then Russell Slade must be relieved of his duties immediately.

The owner and board of directors need to come up with a viable long term plan that incorporates the academy and the direction of the youngsters in it through to the first team and ensure that everyone knows the way in which the club are heading and hoping to achieve, I have written about it before that we need a footballing identity and ‘Cardiff way’ of playing and if that takes years to implement and perfect then so be it but the way in which we are being run managed right now then in my opinion relegation is very much a concern for the fans and something which our owner must be desperate to avoid.

That football direction and a Cardiff identity formed by the way we play was what Old was working towards.

Given time I personally think he would have achieved just that.

Slade though isn't capable of achieving this.

I enjoyed reading the last paragraph, in particular. Having a clear plan for the future and bringing the fans on board would create unity both on and off the pitch.

The club do need to get rid of Slade & Young first.

THEN: Bring in an experienced, visionary manager & support staff who can hopefully get the players playing a certain way.

The club should release a genuine, thought through statement, sharing intent for the future on and off the pitch. This should include 'style of football', development of the academy, youth, scouting systems, transfer policies, wages policies, fan voice, etc. This 'Cardiff Way' should run through everything the club is involved with.

We know so much of this club is a shambles at the moment. There must be some good stuff going on. There are some super prospects that we have on our books. They need to be nurtured and believed in.

Come on, let's get this thing right. We all want a club we can be proud of.

And the next manager will be even worse if we keep changing things. INSTABILITY is not going to solve anything.

We had Dave Jones for 6 seasons and he took us from relegation fodder of the championship to knocking on the premiership door.

We had Malky Mackay for 2.5 seasons who took us that step further to the premier and as far as I am concerned premiership survival.

1 season later we have 2 new managers and now find ourselves in a relegation fight in a lower division.

Work it out guys.

All the time in the world won't stop Slade being a mad manager! But all that time could quite easily see us relegated!

Was a reason given why this article was not printed in the Echo tonight
I assume they must have thought the press would be banned for being negative
Has Carl been told why
