' Russell Slade is feeling the pressure '
Can Cardiff boss turn the tide as pressure mounts?
Friday 13th Feb 2015
Russell Slade has struggled to turn the Cardiff City ship around since inheriting the managerial reins in South Wales.
Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is feeling the pressure, with a run of just one win in 11 Championship games seeing the Welsh side slip towards the relegation zone.
The ex-Leyton Orient coach, who only arrived in South Wales in mid-October, has struggled to stamp his managerial authority at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Bluebirds are in dismal form, picking up a mere seven points from a possible 33. As a result, the crowds are dwindling and the boo-boys are well and truly out in force.
In Slade's defence, the 54-year-old has had to do an awful lot of chopping and changing since arriving in the Welsh capital - bringing in his own players, as well as getting rid of the high earners. But the Bluebirds still have a strong squad and to be in 16th place at this stage of the season is unacceptable.
Slade, who heartbreakingly lost the League One Play-Off Final with Orient last term, is looking to appoint ex-Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope in a coaching role, in a bid to try and turn Cardiff's misfortunes around, according to BBC Sport.
The Welsh club were hot favourites to make an instant return to the Premier League after tumbling through the trapdoor in 2013/14, but with just nine wins to their name all season, they now find themselves closer to the drop zone than the play-offs.
Despite club owner Vincent Tan's recent decision to reinstate Cardiff back to their traditional blue colours, the Bluebirds have failed to kick on and have only secured one win since.
Cardiff do not have a match this week, as they were disappointingly knocked out of the FA Cup at home to Reading three weeks ago. Slade's side, who have drawn their last two Championship matches, will therefore hope to relieve some of the pressure and get a much-needed three points on the board when they entertain Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday evening.

Not surprised with a deluded fan base like ours. When Slade is replaced, which will inevitably happen because in the modern football world nobody can wait longer than 5 minutes for back to back wins and expect miracles, and we bring in another manager who cant work MIRACLES with the shite he's inherited from previous managers and we end up relegated, who are you all blaming then? You'll still blame Slade. You'll blame everyone but YOURSELVES. How you can blame Tan for instability when the fans are continuously calling for managers head every 5 minutes is beyond me.
SLADE IN!!! He has my full backing because he hasn't even got the full side he wants yet. He needs TIME to figure it all out. Hes a HUMAN BEING, not a MAGICIAN.

Are we as fans to blame for the poor standard of football we are playing at the moment? Are we as fans to blame for some of the poor players Slade has brought in? Why has he brought Malone when he is far worse than Super Kev and Fabio. Peltier at least gets stuck in but I can see now why Millwall let Malone go. Are we as fans to blame for the lack of tactics and inconsistent team selection, when our top scorer is left on the bench. I agree fans should not be calling for the managers head every 5 minutes but if we'd been given the right manager, that would not be happening.

Basically, the hard truth is.......Slade has to go, hes not up to the job; and much of the crap he inherited and further signed has to go also! Lets all face it, if we really want to recover from this present mess we need root and branch reform. Anything else will just paper over the cracks.

You have a lot to say for a "fan" who doesn't go to the games. I use the word "fan" as you not a "supporter" of Cardiff City so you don't actually see for yourself how crap we play.
People pay a lot of money to get entertained and if that's not happening then they have every right to ask for change. Get off your high horse.

Can't actually argue the points raised so attack the poster instead. My point still stands. I'm not even going to entertain the juvenile comments made. Also, I won't get off my high horse. I quite like the view from up here.

Well if stories are to go by on here it is no surprise he is feeling the pressure.
Everyone needs to take into account Slade is working under difficult circumstances, more difficult than any other manager we have had.

Lets face it,Slade has'nt got what what it takes to manage at this level,he obviously can not motivate the players at his disposal, his man management skills must be pretty shocking as we are not progressing under him,if anything we are going backwards and cannot see it getting better,HE MUST GO NOW!!!! or we are doomed

I am arguing the point, you say Slade in, I say Slade out! I've also given my reason, we're playing rubbish football and not getting results or being entertained. I feel Slade has bitten off more than he can chew with the City job and needs to go ASAP.

I think the issue here is do you allow the horse to bolt before you close the stable door or do you close it when the horse is still in the stable quietly eating hay?
Put another way, do you try to collect the spilled milk in another container while its on the way to the floor, or leave it and let the cat lick it up?

Don't fully agree with everything you posted but the majority is very true. Our fans want to much to soon and a miracle worker, that is not reality but having said that the football is absolute dire and not even any positives.
