A forum for all things Cardiff City

He says he's not so what does Russell Slade bring to Cardiff City. I thought that this is where managers get their thoughts, plans and strategy across to the players. If this isn't happening as i'm sure it isn't then we are left to an inexperienced under qualified coaching team. Personally i don't think Slade has the dressing room and certainly the players have no respect for the coaches. It doesn't take long for professionals to see through the people supervising them.No wonder we're in a mess and i'm getting more and more worried just as to what Tan is trying to do. We are supposed to be a professionally run club but we're not, if we had been run properly then we would still be in the Premiership. Blackburn next tuesday will be a loss as they'll have too much determination about them. I expect Rudy to score and good luck to him if he does,he might have been raw when he was with us but always showed effort. I'm trying to think of a good reason for not going tuesday, unwell on the day,too cold,raining.....how sad after i've been supporting them 58 years. Oh well i feel much better after writing this, roll on next season, whichever division we're in.

I^m not against "original ways of doing things" provided they work!
But his approach, as you rightly say, seems to have lost the dressing room, so clearly it is not the right one.

'Slade has lost the dressing room' ??
we would be better off with that bloke who was painting the dressing room !

I don't think this is unusual, all managers have a trusted number 2 that take training etc and it is pivotal. Look at what pat rice did @ Aresnal with we get and look since he left, Malky had dyche (spelling) and look what happened there after also. We have
got Young who offers nothing at all.
Trollope could actually be a massive signing! Slade so far has been a let since his decent start, but things might improve over the next few weeks, Trollope will have input, players again will want to impress and slade can concentrate on managing not babysitting young who is more out of his depth than slade IMO, whilst he has his trusted man is training/coaching.

You're probably right, Dave Jones frequently played golf whilst Terry Burton took the training. The problem is the coaches are not good enough to give him the necessary input that he obviously needs. Most new managers bring their own backroom staff with them, people that they know and trust ! Hopefully as you say perhaps Trollope will be a good signing and have a more ideas than the present staff.

All teams tend to have a coaching team who takes training but problem is for us that's Scott young, players respect managers who are hands on tho it's where they build a relationship with a manager and where u will start to want to win for him, look at derby McLaren is a hands on coach/manager and they are flying, same with Eddie Howe it's not a coincidence the teams doing well in this league have a manager the players want to play for
