Keep changing the manager every few months until we find one that can perform miracles at this club during a period of transition? They're football managers, not magicians. We're a club going through a period of transition trying to balance the books off the pitch as well. If we keep changing managers all the time and don't give them long enough to stamp their true authority on the club we'll never any sort of ethos whether its parking the bus or nice expansive football. Our team will have no stability whatsoever, players will get fed up and will then seek to move elsewhere to a club that actually has some of structure to it.
Sacking Slade is not the answer. If we then get in Lambert or someone and he doesn't perform miracles in a few months people will be calling for his head as well. Then the next manager they'll do the same. Sorry but Slade has my full backing until he has enough time to put his true stamp on the team and get rid of the players who don't even care and are only interested in putting in a shift when it suits them. If Tan gets rid of Slade then he's a fool. No manager with a brain or an ounce of business acumen will come to a club like ours and anybody that comes in is only going to want to do it their way and rip everything up.
Patience is the order of the day and Rome wasn't built in one. We've been spoilt with the Premier League, money thrown at players and good results against the likes of Man City and Man Utd. Well, you cant always have your cake and eat it. Its time to get real.

The standard of football is absolutely dire

All the evidence is there for a badly run business and club

The key to a succesfull club is a good manager thats how the jacks have done so well and southampton for example. Slade is not the man to take us forward we need the right man out to turn things around take us to the premiership and keep us there. If anyone thinks slade is that man then quite frankly you must be off your head and away with the fairies.

He was appointed (I think)
1/to reduce the wage bill and

1/The Squad
Some fans on here say that he has "suceeded" in reducing the squad. But any fool can get rid of players and get a few others (admittedly cheaper) instead.Unfortunately IMO he has done a poor job of reducing the squad. For example...
Getting rid of Daehli who was an extremely talented and creative midfielder did not make sense as he wasnt one of the highest salaried players. On the other hand he got have got a decent price for Whitts whose best years are behind him. Similarly, its clear that we have a very good replacement goalie yet he doesnt take the opportunity to get an excellent fee for (the excellent) Marshall. On the other hand Slade has a penchant for purchasing others where we already have sufficient players (full back) already! Some of his immediate purchases were 30 plus years and playing at a lower level than us.
2/Steadying the ship
I said that I was worried that RS would take us into a relegation fight before Christmas. But I thought we would just about stay up. in any event he has totally failed to do this.in any event results this year show that he has totally failed to steady the ship
Added to this the quality and style of football is terrible.
Sadly I can only see that changing our managersnow would improve our chances of staying up. While I do not like to see anyone lose their job I would have to say that even if we stay up under RS, I would still have no faith in his management for next year. Do we really want to give him the summer to buy more of "his" players?
Anyway, I hope he proves my fears are misplaced.
