never more than 3 passes, and that sideways and backwards

wingers constantly losing possesion

no shots

only hope of a goal is from set plays, and they are even shit at that

Agreed but its the worst for some time, and lets not forget football generally has moved on a lot since then .......

It's appalling!! I would prefer we went route one and had a game plan than just not know what we are doing, we would get more success doing this as kj is perfect for the long ball

It's definitely up there with the worst, but what's so shocking is that this team has got plenty of talent unlike some previous teams who've worn the shirt.

No. Some of us were there when the club was in League One and/or Two.

The league that we are in doesnt change the football we are playing.

The games in league one and league two are usually more entertaining as the defenses are turd.

I remember the 3 & 4 division days and it wasn't great to watch but back then atleast the team showed fight , passion and effort, I think this is the worst football I've seen by city in the last 32 years. Whether it's down to slade or not ( I think he's a clown) none of the current team seem to show any passion or effort, theres a lot of talent in our squad so what the f••ks going on ?

I have seen worse football in the last 30 years but those teams were made up mainly of cast offs journeymen and free transfers.

The really annoying thing about the current lot is that they are highly paid, some are internationals and many have premiership experience.

The football we play and the position we are in is a joke...and everyone at the club..chairman, chief executive, management, coaches and players need to have a long hard look at themselves..you can't just blame this on one or two people..many people are picking up huge salaries and contributing next to nothing

No. Unfortunately it's not the worst I've ever seen, which means it could get worse! When we were in the old 3rd and 4th divisions it was worse with no hope and no sign of investment, and as some posters have suggested that at least there was fight and passion in the team in those days, well they need to think again. That was not always the case.

3 managers in just over a year, relegation in to the rough and tumble of the championship then a January fire sale, things aren't looking great, 40 odd days since the return to blue and also our last league win. I thought City played well at hillsbough first half at least, why did Slade change the team I will never understand, didn't help Doyle confidence one bit. The worst football I saw was in 1990/91 when I first fell in love with the BLUEBIRDS only two sides of the ground open and losing to Lincoln at home now that was a really poor show. SLADE OUT

Absolutely agree. If we have one of the best headers of the ball in the Championship why do we now decide that our wingers, and full-backs, won't cross the ball into the box

It's crap watching long ball but at least it can be effective. I'm now at a loss as to what style Slade wants to play, just as I was with OGS. Even in transition you have to use the formation/tactics that are most likely to get a result whilst you change gradually (e.g. Hughes transitioning from Pullis at Stoke); Slade seems incapable of working that out and therefore players have lost confidence in both Slade and themselves.

Perhaps his new assistant will point that out, he's certainly operated at a decent level with better managers than Slade.

We are one step from one of the worlds elite leagues and we are playing league 2 stuff, but badly.

I was wrong. I believed that you could put any experienced manager in Cardiff City and we would do better than ole. How wrong can you be............Well not as wrong as Vinnie continually is.

City myths:

1 We play hoofball. No we don't, that takes a game plan. We have no plan whatsoever.

2 Our crap teams of 90s and 80s were shit but gave 100%. No they didn't but they were mostly free transfers or bargain basement.

3. We can't go down as there's worse teams than us. I hope this isn't a myth but I'm bloody worried.

I bet our 'crap' teams in the 80/90's actually gave a shit for the shirt and managed to get over 50% possession at home.

Certainly not the worst by a long chalk...but JonCCFC makes a good point in that it is all relevant to individual ages and/or longevity of support

Basically, those of us who are (shall we say) a bit longer in the tooth, will have witnessed a lot worse than this (see Nukes thread on "worst manager ever") whilst for the young guns amongst our support this probably is the worst we have played in 10 years+

I started going when I was 10 when we were in the same position as we are now with 12,000 at Ninian Park, the football was crap but there wasn't a negative vibe around the place like there is now. I think for the new generation (I guess I'm part of that) we've been used to year after year of finishing in the top half of the Championship, challenging for promotion, and the only way to look was up. We're more than used to heart-ache but we're not used to looking down.

its not quite the worst but we never spent millinons on players back then which we have done for this squad and thats what is so baffeling,its not solely down to slade tho having scott young as assistant is a joke we may as well not have a assistant cos he couldnt even keep the porth job fs

No chance. That season (1996?) we lost something like 23 games out of 46 in the old div 4 was grim. This is fantastic in comparison.
Some people need to get a grip. Those days were feckin awful.
