At this rate only relegated teams will go back up unless they alter parachute payments downwards! As no one could compete in champ! relegated teams buying rivals best players in championship :old:

The gulf between us and Swansea will be even greater, and it looks like they will be leaving us behind for years to come. The problem will be the next generation of supporters. Who will they follow, an established Premier League side or a team in and out of the bottom two divisions playing in front of 7,000 or so fans. Can see Swansea being the main club in Wales for a long time, and us, Newport and Wrexham being the also ran.

On the contrary Mark. I was explaining this to my 15 yr old lad today, and he remarked "Yes, but it's not real money is it. It's football money". He hit the nail right on the head, as the money doesn't go to the clubs, but in higher salaries to players and agents etc. The TV rights money could be whatever it can be. It doesn't make the clubs richer, but only serves to put clubs like us/swansea in serious financial problems should we be relegated. No matter how prudent you are with your finances. On the other hand, it also opens the door wider for outside investors to buy into your club. It's all bad! :(

Agree at some point it will reach point where only rich clubs will thrive and smaller clubs outside 8 or 9 will be scrabbling to stay up! average players is probably all can afford , players agents are laughing all the way to bank so are players! Alternatively it could be that relegated teams will have to much money for champ clubs to compete and they will poach best players in jan so having greater advantage resulting in it being basically a revolving door of premier clubs going up and down season after season, with no champ club being promoted or occasionally one? :o
