Picking players who aren't in form

Wed Feb 11, 2015 11:59 am

What is Slade so afraid of?.

Whittingham and Gunnarsson are a relegation teams central midfield. We have literally no threat WHATSOEVER through the middle. All we do is hit it to the wings and hope Noone or that new Evertonian can do something. Or lump it forward for Kenwyne to win another header.

All the opposition have to do is mark the wingers and defend headers.

Pathetic tactics. Pathetically scared of trying something different.

Drop Whittingham and Gunnarsson and play O'keefe, Ralls and Adeyemi. Or something different ffs.

It is February and how many performances have we have off whittingham and gunnar this year?.

Whittingham is weak and slow. Hits a good goal every 4 months. Offers nothing going forward. Shit freekicks and corners, the occasional good one.

Gunnarsson is offer nothing going forward. Tackles a bit.

That is our central midfield.

Good luck to Eoin Doyle, Kenwyne, the Toffees etc They'll get no service at all with our shit central midfield.

For the first time I think we could easily go down. If we continue to pick two players so out of form for the sake of it.

Not going to try to defend Whitts and gunnar.

But, what are you expecting any central midfield player to do.

We have a static KJ, who moves slower than a tanker, but if you get the ball into him can head it.

Our wingers can run with it, its just down blind alleys and rarely cross it.

We have stopped any overlapping full backs.

I am not sure what you are expecting from anyone...........

O'Keefe played the first half and was shit
After 2 games earlier in the season everyone wanted Ralls off
Ademyemi hasn't passed the ball all season

Slades tactics do not help, but they are so lethargic.

All they did was foul their opposition as they couldnt get near the ball.

Kenwyne has no chance of doing anything with such bad service.

At least Ralls and Adeyemi are mobile. They offer an ounce of creativity and something different. Adeyemi will run through the middle. Something Gunnar and Whittingham are scared to do.

It clearly is not working so I dont see any reason for not trying them.

It is like watching two planks of wood in midfield currently. They are so, so boring.

Ralls was playing out of position when he was totally ineffective. He played left-back and wing under Ole.
He really hasn't had a chance in his favoured left centre midfield. He's a player who can drive forest and score, as he showed v. Colchester.

Totally agree with op.
Give ralls and adeyemi a shot or even tho wharton. Adeyemi and ralls were our two best players in the cup against colchester.

Central midfielders are key of the team .

You can't blame jones when he's got no one around him to flick it to .

That why Doyle would have played his part if him and whittingham were swapped on Tuesday

Whittingham brought nothing to that game Tuesday for me and hasn't done that much all season yet gets a free pass to play all games . Absolute madness

If he hasn't got the balls to drop them just watch it get worse id say .

Our central midfield pairing is dire, its probably the worst in the division, or for any division come to think of it! Theres no point in keeping players just on sentimentality and based on former glories. Its a bit disingenuous to blame forwards when there is absolutely no creativity in midfield!

Exactly . I think they are Nackered gunnarson is anyway I think

Whittinghams been off touch all year I'd say

I like that okeefe just think he needs better midfielders next to him

And I agree about the forwards you can't blame jones when no one is around him if anything the role whittingham had he should of been close to him that's why they was just passing around the back having time because no one else could get the other side from jones to close that side

Soon changed when Doyle came on

But to late should of started instead of whits

But hey what do I know I haven't been to uni to study sport

You said it, Jones forces the long ball so he can flick it on.......

Shame because Jones is more than a flick on merchant, he can control it and bring others into the game, but they need to be nippy good control guys. He really is better suited to the jacks.

I appreciate footballers, any fool can run around and get a tackle in but in Slade's 442 with Doyle and Jones up front there is absolutely no point playing Whitts even for set plays.

O'keefe and Adeyemi running around harrying the opposition then launch it will get us the 10 points we probably need and its probably what we need to do now, but what a sad state when the fans that complain about no football being played want the only footballer off the field.

Ralls will be wasted as well :(
