One incident in the second half summed up the entire Slade era for me.
Whittingham, a shadow of the player he once was and still meant to be our "playmaker", received the ball near the halfway line, and under no real pressure from the Brighton players, sent the ball back 40 yards to David Marshall, one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier Leaugue last season who, under no pressure whatsoever, lumped the ball straight into touch.
