Leicester City sack manager Nigel Pearson

LEICESTER CITY have sacked manager Nigel Pearson.

Nigel Pearson has been sacked

Sunday 8th Feb 2015

The Foxes are rooted to the foot of the table and are five points off safety, having lost each of their last three league outings.

Pearson was embroiled in an altercation with Crystal Palace player James McArthur, where he appeared to put his hands around the midfielder's throat during Leicester's 1-0 defeat yesterday.

Pearson, 51, took over at the King Power Stadium in 2011 and helped pull the Foxes out of the Championship last season.

No point sacking him, they are going down anyway.

Leicester will be in the same situation as we are next season back in the championship with a big gutless overpaid squad.

Rick, Leicester spent more money over 2 years in trying to get promotion than Malky did.

I rate Pearson though, but once your up in the Big League, its another world as we found out.

Probably the reason why he was sacked, hasn't handled the pressure very well, looked mentally unstable, needs a break from the game to sort himself out.

Thats the problem and owners also have to take responsibility for this as they sanction it all.

Leicester fans are just as fickle as us.

The season we went up Leicester chase for most of the season. They got off to a dreadful start and their were calls for Pearson to go. Then they went on a run and got insight of us, they started singing his name. They then fell away and the calling started again. Last season they ran away with the championship and it was the first full campaign they left him alone.

Leicester City have dismissed reports that they have sacked Nigel Pearson as manager and stated that he will be in charge for Tuesday night’s trip to play Arsenal.

Despite several sources confirming to the Guardian that the 51-year-old had left his post after a meeting with the club’s owners on Sunday, the club issued a statement denying that any decision had been taken.

“Leicester City Football Club would like to clarify its position relative to its manager, Nigel Pearson,” read the statement.

“Contrary to media speculation on Sunday evening, Nigel remains the Club’s First Team Manager. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and without foundation.

“Nigel, his staff and the first team squad are entirely focused on Tuesday night’s trip to Arsenal and our continued efforts to secure our position in the Barclays Premier League.”

the similarities with our club and LCFC are uncanny.

i thought they would get relegated at the start of the season. their big problem was that they were supposedly playing well every week but not picking up points. when they play badly they are stuffed.

i'm not sure sacking pearson would make too much difference (he hasn't been sacked yet contrary to the title of this thread). the next one in would have to work with the same players and its very competitive at the bottom.
