Better but corner not yet turned!

It was a better performance by City today there is no doubting that and Slade got more from the team than he has in many matches.

Whether Sheffield Wednesday were good, bad or indifferent was not what I was interested in, I wanted to see if the new signings could improve our performance and I am glad to say we were an improved side.

Was it a complete performance, of course it was not, the first half was very good not a brilliant performance but definitely a vast improvement of previous ones.

I thought Doyle was what I hoped he would be, a handful for the centre halves and had a solid debut for us.

McAleny is a tricky player who caused Wednesday a few issues.

We have not turned a corner but I am hopeful on what I have seen in the first half and the battling performance in the second half right until the final whistle will continue to see us build.

It was definitely an improvement.

Doyle and McAleny did well.

Maybe a win on Tuesday will boost confidence, but Brighton will fight.

Still a long way to go I fear.

Stats still don't make good reading though. 17 shots sheff wed. 8 city
Sheff wed 9 corners to 1, However we did actually manage over 40% poss.

Still "same old, same old" in midfield! Will Slade ever learn?
