' Interesting regarding New Signing Eoin Doyle '

Last night and today I spoke to a few Chesterfield,Leeds and Sheffield United fans
Plus I read in todays paper.

The highest bid Chesterfield had for Eoin Doyle was £450,000,until Cardiff came in for him, so it would be interesting to know what we paid for him as it was reported £750,000,plus £250,000 add ons etc ?

Chesterfield fans are really gutted that he has gone, but they reckon over the last 2 years both Sheffield clubs,Leeds and Forest have all watched him. They reckon their club sold him too cheap.

He def was a sensational striker in the lower divisions for them :thumbright: the step up to the Championship will be massive for a player nearly 27 years old.

We must all get right behind him and give him time to adjust, so if he fails to score in his first few games, dont get on his back, he is a Bluebird now,so fully support him :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

32 goals in 69 appearances for Chesterfield :thumbright:

According to Wiki he is nearly 27

Its a risk of a signing but we havent paid a huge amount, the issue has been more about getting service to the front men.

I really hope he does well though

Ricky lambert Charlie austin, even earnshaw proves that lower league players who score bags of goals can make the step up, can Doyle do it aswell, I think so but we need to sort put midfield put first

I dont agree with your comment mate about the step up to the championship being massive for him.
It wasnt for ricky lambert
It wasnt for charlie austin
It wasnt for jamie vardy from the lower leagues again
It wasnt for brentford and bournemouths players either this year.

I hope doyle can be like charlie austin and make the step with ease and keep doing what hes doing and banging the goals in no problem.

Most prolific strikers in lower div do well in champ given time to adjust its just the quality in defending is bit better! But of course depending on if team plays to his strengths or he as support, I think he as support in Jones or revel optimistic he will do well

The question is not whether Doyle is good enough finishing. Its whether he'll get enough supply.

Re: ' Interesting regarding New Signing Eoin Doyle '

The fact that he was linked to a few clubs says a lot, if WBA were interested then there must be something there?

I really hope he does well for us, and I agree we mustn't get on his back straight away. This is a big step up for him and it may take a few games for him to find his feet.

Think he could be a good signing for us though, and for a good price :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Re: ' Interesting regarding New Signing Eoin Doyle '

Alot of his goals on his highlights come from open play so I hope we can create the chances for him because that's one thing we struggle to do. I fear we've got the ability to make decent players look terrible with our style of play

Re: ' Interesting regarding New Signing Eoin Doyle '

Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:46 pm

not surprised we had to pay more than possible previous offers
its pretty much the norm that players cost a bit more in the January window :bluescarf:
still think he could be the bargain of this window :bluescarf:

The Championship is one of the best Leagues in Europe and its a massive step, its way ahead of the divisions below, some players make it some dont, thats why we must have patience and give Doyle a chance :thumbright:

All the new lads deserve our support it's not their fault what's happened at the club or what they have walked into.

I have a feeling this lad Doyle will hit 15 before seasons end :ayatollah:

Annis i think you are being unfair to city fans regarding giving doyle time and not get on his back, i think we are a pretty patience bunch if the player gives 100%, remember ronnie moore f**k me how much time did we give him untill he scored i dont think le fondre has had any stick from inside the ground just off the keyboard warriors,so i think he will have time and will come good hopefully :ayatollah:

During the game,no matter what, I never get on our players backs, pointless as all you will do is make it worse for them :thumbright:

I remember Ronnie Moore well, Ive still got a badge saying I saw Ronnie Moore score :thumbright: :ayatollah:

The old City fans had much more patience with our team :thumbright: I feel some and I mean some of our new type of fan turn on them for the slightest mistake,I hear it all the time.

I think we all have a winge at some stage i usually do with our midfield but there no point getting on their backs exspecially the strikers as they got the hardest jobs ,i lost my ronnie moore badge a long time ago and i didnt get one for eddie the yank

I totally agree always baffles me why supporters do it?

They are our players and most try their best I suppose it's pent up frustration on supporters minds :ayatollah:

When we playing crap and losing makes the weekend depressing

Due a win :bluescarf:

I think he will do just fine.

We created a few chances for ALF but was wasteful, hopefully Doyle will find the net.

Yeah your right macheda had a lot more stick because he's lazy even tho he's bagged a few more. Le fondre always gave 100% so didn't get too much except for the complaints about him not scoring which is fair enough since he had a good run to get going.

Annis, I was told this morning that the deal was £450k up front, another £400k after so many appearances and £200k if Cardiff City get promoted during the length of Doyke's contract which is three and a half years.

So total being just over £1m those conditions happen.

Cheers Carl, lets hope he costs us over a £million, it will mean Doyle was a success :thumbright: :thumbright:

Very good deal. Give Slade some credit here.
The key thing he has the habit of scoring, and his level isn't so much lower than ours....

As a team we are not creative enough with our style of play and it's the Midfield/Defence we have to sort out. If we get that right and create 10 + good goal scoring chances per game then I'm sure he will get a few for us.

Its a gamble signing folks. I hope he bags few goals in Chesterfield in my eyes sold him on the cheap.

I saw Ronnie Moore score too :-) Imho we have more than our fare share of moaners/abusers at our team, I've cringed so many times over the years at the way some players have been treated. Guilty myself on 1 occasion too. :bluescarf:
