Cardiff City midfielder Peter Whittingham says the players want to win for manager Russell Slade after a recent run of poor form.
The Bluebirds are 13th in the Championship, seven points above the bottom three and 13 adrift of the play-off places.
They have lost their last three league games and Whittingham says the squad are determined to get back to winning ways away to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, 7 February.
"He's a good guy to have in charge and hopefully we can repay him with a few wins," said Whittingham.

Whittingham certainly knows which side of his bread is buttered on,any knowledgeable manager would have dropped him by know

They know what his job was....The hachet man, a job Ole couldn't do
Perhaps now they know who is staying, they will act as a team... Ball is in the players and slades court....Talk is cheap.

Agree mate, so unappreciated especially after all he's done for city. He just needs to be played further forwards behind the strikers in my opinion.

They should want to win for us fans more than anyone.
The cack we've had to put up with since December 2013.

It has nothing to do with what whittingham has done for the club in the past.
He isn't good enough any more. Consistently average. He is a sub now.
Past performances count for nothing. Look at how happy everyone was for noone to be sold yesterday.

Shouldn't they want to win anyway!!!!!!

I thought Slade had lost the dressing room according to many on here. Whitts doesn't seem to think so.

You would need a f..king long memory for whitts to be any good
and he was played further foreward on saturday against derby and done f..k all and was useless
in fact he was marginaly better when dropped back when gunnerson went off
come on lads be reasonable lets talk in the hear and now not the yesteryear

Last time he played well was wolves at home a few seasons ago. I think that was the last time he hit a decent free kick aswell

Apart from the Man City game, I would say February 2013.

I'm surprised that Slade has'nt brought a playmaker in during this window
massimo luongo would have been good signing
Whitts has his limitations but still technically very good and comfortable on the ball ...... but part of a misfiring midfield
He needs a spell out of the side just to see how the midfield operates without him

People seem to have changed this thread from Whitts' backing of Slade....to the last time Whitts played well. We all know that Whitts hasn't played well for a good while but the important point here is that loads of our fans have been stating that Slade has lost the dressing room. How they could profess to know this is baffling. But with Whitts making these positive comments about winning for Slade it seems to suggest that he still has the dressing room.
