Cardiff City are set to sign Irish striker Eoin Doyle from Chesterfield on an undisclosed seven-figure deal according to the League One club.
The 26-year-old former Sligo Rovers and Hibernian frontman is the top scorer in England, with 21 league goals and 25 in total, the last of which came in the Spireites’ 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers.
Doyle played under his former Sligo Rovers manager Paul Cook at Chesterfield and the Dubliner’s goals have helped the Derbyshire club into promotion contention.
