I know we suffered another loss saturday but i do feel we can take some positives out of that game going forward.
Derby are a top side but we wasnt doninated and had we took the chances we created it could have been a differant scoreline. Fine margins cost us as they managed to get the ball in the net and we came close but didnt, but we did create chances.
We seemed to pass the ball about much better and instead of hoofing it played football so hopefully that is a plus and we keep it that way going forward..possesion stats reflected this and we only got outdone on posession by less than 2%.
Also i feel that the formation change was better and we looked much more organised and comfortable with the 4231 set up.
With 2 new faces added hopefully we can turn things around anyone else feeling a bit more positive after saturday? I just hope slade sticks to saturdays tactics and dosent go back to hoofball diamond 442 football.

On reflection I tend to agree. I didn't feel like that at the end of the game though, but having had time to reflect and look at some of the highlights I'm not all doom and gloom. I'm undecided about Slade whereas everyone else has written him off. People on here tend to over react. I'm not saying that Slade is going to be any good but he needs to get more of his own men on board and bed them in. That takes time. The group of players that he inherited, even though they were expensive, were mostly lazy and uncomfortable in possession. Daehli was an obvious exception, but even he didn't perform in the Championship. Something had to be done and Slade is in the process of doing it. We were a mess and whoever came in would have struggled in the short term.

If saturday is anything to go by i dont think we are as far off where we need to be as some people think.
I think february is crucial for us and slade needs to deliver this month simple as that so lets see how we do, if he cant get us results this month he needs to go asap simple as that

The two new boys were definitely positives and I agree with the change to 4-2-3-1, I really hope Slade sticks with this formation.
That was it for me though, couldn't see any other positives. Derby barely had to get out of 1st gear, they kept their shape and just allowed us to keep hold of the ball. We never really threatened them and I'm sure if they needed to take the game by the scruff of the neck they could've gone through the gears and put the game to bed sooner.
