Cardiff City boss Russell Slade: 'We won't face relegation battle'
By Simon Sinclair, Reporter
Sunday, February 1, 2015
Cardiff City boss Russell Slade is confident that his side will not be involved in the relegation battle in the Championship this season.
The Bluebirds fell to their third defeat on the spin in the league as an own goal from Scott Malone and a strike from Chris Martin fired Derby County to a 2-0 victory at Cardiff City Stadium.
Slade told reporters: "I'm a positive person and I don't think we are getting dragged into a relegation fight.
"We need to stop this trend of losing but I don't see why we can't go and win next week and get some momentum.
"This has been a tricky period as we go through transition with players leaving and coming in, but it's not impossible to make the play-offs. That is becoming less realistic with the points we need to catch up, but we won't give up."
Cardiff are 13th in the Championship, seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Slade is deluded. We are in a relegation scrap now. Only 7 points off the bottom three and the way we are playing under Slade we could very well be in a relegation spot before too long.

How is it there appears to be only one person who can't see the writing on the wall?

He's lost the plot
Sun Feb 01, 2015 12:37 pm
He has discussed making the play offs and the word relegation within 48 hours of each other he is deluded

Delusional

I can't see where the next goal is coming from let alone a win if we have got to rely on revel to get us goals we are fucked .i can't see anything else other than a relegation battle

What do you expect him to say? "I think we're going to get relegated"? He is doing his best to be positve, but no one likes to be positve on here. Loyal supporters, my a--e

There's a difference between loyalty and blind faith, a different style of football is needed as his systems just don't work.
Luckily there's teams like Blackpool in the league otherwise it's goodnight Vienna.

If he does get sacked, Paul Lambert should be available! Just seen the Villa debacle at Arsenal!

I agree he's staying, but that's the most worrying thing as the guy appears clueless.
I will continue to support the team, but it's more in hope than belief.
It says something when one of your best chances of scoring is lost because a player who takes your throw ins goes off?

We do support the team, {my only club in 67 years) that's why we want Slade to go!!

1 win 9! 18 games to go. If that's not relegation form I don't know what is. Possibly our worst ever season in the championship.

Slade reckons that we can still get in the playoffs despite being 13 points adrift, but we will not fight relegation and we are only 7 points above the bottom 3. Is he stupid or can't he count as we are a lot nearer to the bottom 3 than we are the top 6.
We have Welsh league coaches playing Welsh league tactics of course we are in a relegation battle!!!
