O'Keefe and Peltier

Sun Feb 01, 2015 5:43 am

Didn't see the game yesterday as I'm away. I'm wondering how O'Keefe and Peltier played? Do you think they will both improve our squad? I'm not expecting Peltier to improve on Brayford, as Brayford is an excellent full back and a big loss imo, but I'm hoping O'Keefe will strengthen our struggling centre midfield?

Both did ok, peltier had a good game as did okeefe, until he ran out of steam, as he has not played much

Peltier played well, beaten too easily for the 2nd goal but he didn't stand much chance with the quality on the ball (Malone left the crosser in acres of space and he put it on a plate for him)

O'Keefe started well, is a busy kind of player and keeps the ball well, faded in the second half but that's probably down to lack of game time this season.

Can't see either player letting us down the same way as others have, both look commited players

Spot on......

And just to add Peltier is hard tackling and quite aggressive, which is nice to see

Same with O'Keefe I thought

O'Keefe was efficient first half, but should've been subbed a lot earlier...way short of match fitness. I like Peltier. As good as Brayford and he looks up more. Brayford is all head down surge forward.

I saw it slightly differently.

Peltier is dogged and willing to get stuck in so that's good. Don't expect to see him going forward much though, so fo me we are now stuck with a back four that won't offer anything going forward and for me that's a major worry for a team that needs to score goals. Apart from Jones who can't last for anywhere near 90 minutes I just can't see how we are going to score.

As for Okeefe i think he looked like a lower league player who will offer very little in terms of creative play. I don't think he's a patch on Adeyemi. Probably a very similar player to Gunnerson in what he offers. If we needed players to help us win games (and that's what we need) then these two aren't going to be much help.

I think thry'll both prove to be valuable assets.

In League 1.

Signified the change in direction of play.....

Flat back 4 similar to that of the 80's/90's so Peltier looked good in that role. Don't expect runs from him, he is a defender and that's it.

O'Keefe - 80's/90's snappy little player similar to Peter Reid- will get a lot of yellow cards and the odd red......

The game at the higher end has moved on, but don't tell Slade

You obviously have not seen him throughout his career then mate. As he is very good going forward when he is actually allowed to and when the wingers or midfielders on the right support him. He was a revelation at Huddersfield the first time and at Leicester, then when he went to Leeds he was mainly played at centre half. Don't judge Peltier's lack of forward runs just because of his one performance against Derby yesterday. Also when he gets used to playing with the boys he will get a lot more confident as well. Cause mark my words, when he gets back to full fitness he will be much better than he was yesterday. For his first game for us he did very well yesterday. The people who wrote Peltier off when we signed him will be eating their words soon because he will turn out to be one of the most consistent and better players at the club.

Bloooooobirds.

Hi Tonteg, you didn't miss much again, very much in a downward spiral can't see where the next win will come from. I personally think its all about punishing the fans whether it will end up in relegation i don't know, no team is ever too good to go down. I still find it fascinating that we've employed rookie managers who have been out of their depth so its pretty obvious that Tan needs a puppet irrespective of results. No good manager would dare to come here under the present circumstances, good managers do things their way and wont have any interference on team selection. Anyway i've had my little sunday rant, hope you're having a nice holiday wherever you may be.

Thanks everyone. The majority of the comments seem positive so hopefully they will both prove to be decent acquisitions.
