A forum for all things Cardiff City

I've been to very nearly every home and away game for the past 3 seasons but next Saturday I'm not going to Sheffield W.
I've been agonising for a week or so whether to buy tickets but for the first time for ages I just couldn't drum up the enthusiasm.
It's the rubbish standard of the football which I feel, and I'm sure I'm not alone, is the major reason for following football. It couldn't have been the colours, otherwise I wouldn't have been going since we went red.
I'm a sports nut and will watch anything, so next week I'm going to the rugby instead.
If we can't pull ourselves round I'm wondering how many fans we'll be putting off for good.
A couple of months ago I would NEVER have considered missing football to watch another sport.

I totally understand and agree with you I am not renewing my season ticket next year for the first time in 24 years worse standard of football for a hell of a long time

When has the football ever been really that good ?
Can't believe some of you can just give up going because the standard ain't good

I'm not giving up and I'll no doubt renew but just now I've no enthusiasm to go that extra mile to Sheffield.
If the football isn't worth watching then what's the point.
Its like throwing money away on something rubbish.
We have had a fair number of years with a degree of success in recent times. OK the football hasn't always been scintillating but being on the up in cups and league tables gave the atmosphere a real lift and that makes it far more bearable that what we've got right now.

We all pay our TV licence (well most of us) and all we get there is crap.
You name how many seasons in the last 30 years the City's football as been enjoyable ?
It's a drug I'm renewing I need my fix .
Crap or good I'll be there ,moaning groaning etc etc .

Agree, Piss poor excuse. I was not going to renew if the rebrand was not reversed but now I'm more than happy renew.

you claim to have watched us for 24 years, during which time there was dire football in division 4, yet when we are going through a poor patch in mid table championship you decide to call it a day?
what a poor excuse for a fan you are, and i use that term loosely. i also think you're lying about having a season ticket for 24 years as the football has been much, much worse than it is today.

Why would I lie you dick I have been going for over 30 years St for 24 maybe I have discovered there is a real life and time to move on

Likewise , people should go because you support the team not the results . You got to take the bad with the good ( when it comes ! )
Walking away just because we ain't winning ? Bit pathetic IMO .
Roll on Sheffield next weekend I say ! Win loose or draw

I'm not brave or hardly a hero only doing what I like doing going out with my mates for a good old drink and watch the football.
Football is my love . Just because my team ain't winning don't mean I'm not going to go anymore

My original point wasn't that I'm going to stop attending home matches and I'm sure I'll renew.
But away games are expensive for two people ans spending an extra £200 to watch rubbish, unentertaining and predictable football just doesn't add up.
no matter how hardened a supporter you are the twam needs to provide some motivation.
