Does this board need 11 Stickys at the top of the page???

Don't really know why we need so many.

Most of them are articles copied and pasted from other websites and Newspapers.

It doesn't need ANY Sticky's.

Natural selection is enough to keep the most popular posts at the top.

Scrolling half way down the screen to find a new thread to read. Think it's the only football forum that has this many stickys, one or two explaining forum rules and the up and coming fixture would be enough

The board has an announcement section which could include rules or anything important.

I don't know why, but it really gets on my nerves

Weve been doing this for well over 5 years and I rem 5 years ago this same type of topic was started and we were told the stickies would fail, well they have not and thousands read them every day and they have proved a total success

Fans come up to me down the City and say every day we look on the forum and love the stickies as everything we need to know is there, we might not post,but we all read them

I think maybe 11 is excessive but I think a few at the top is good, especially the news articles.

But if there is plenty of news sometimes its hard to drop a few,but we will try and keep it a bit lower But stickies are what has kept this forum football related

Like you say, it means everything we need to know is in one place and easier to locate.

This is a busy time for news as well, with us being this close to the deadline, there are bound to be a couple more stickies.

You've ignored some of the points that have been made. If all the main stories about the club are stickied, then it's easy to just log on here and see what the main stories are.

Personally, I find it a lot quicker to get my Cardiff City news through this forum than the official website, or even Wales Online. It's all in one place, so easy to find.

Another point, it's not that difficult to scroll down past the stickys? It takes about 10 seconds.

It also stops numerous topics being made on the same subject. If the stories weren't at the top, then people might not know that it's been posted on here? As it is, it's easy to see what has and hasn't been put on.

Wrong, a good topic can sometimes just drop,as it does not just go by replies.
Thousands just read the topics,compared to how many reply

Seriously folks, if all we can come up with is a debate about how many stickies to have, or none at all, there can't be much wrong with this forum. Let's not lose sight of the fact that it is well run, lively, Cardiff-based banter by and large. Annis and the mods deserve a lot of credit for this. just saying.

I know people tend to get touchy when criticisms are around but I too have felt there are far too many stickies. There should be a max of 4 or something.

There are stickies like "my opinion" or something like that which i think is wrong. As a previous poster said, natural selection will keep posts at the top as they get commented on. Otherwise half the page is taken up of stuff lots of people arent interested in. Loads of times i have seen stickies with zero replies.

I agree,if it's anything important regarding the club then put it in announced not it normal threads!!!!!

Ive been reading this forum since its inception. Im not attacking you just replying to Gavin that he is wrong about stickies not involving peoples personal opinions. I appreciate the offer to put my opinion as a sticky but that would compound the issue and not solve it. It would just mean that i will then be the author of the stickys that i disagree with being up there.
