A forum for all things Cardiff City

Shipped out of Cardiff for being an "apparently" poor player, yet seasons on, he's now the cream of the crop at Blackburn and wanted by a load of clubs.
I would have thought most clubs would be in for Rhodes but Rudy's stepped up to the mark.
He gave everything for us and we let him down. Still happy for the lad, who's now gone onto bigger and better things.

Ita tough to take but understandable for me, he was never all that exciting to watch for us under MM, perhaps if we hadn't been promoted he would still be here, but for our club we couldn't relying on him in the Premier league.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, if we'd only loaned him out rather than let him leave on a permanent basis, but I don't remember to many people on here disappointed when we let him go.
All the best to him.

Did we have anyone better to rely on in the Premier League? It's all about opinions of course but I actually don't think we did. Frazier Campbell who I describe as a "piss and wind" player....all running but no end product and absolutely no physical presence. Funny old game.

The thing I noticed with Campbell was that he’d turn up in the big games, the likes of Man City / Liverpool but did next to nothing in the games that mattered.
Poor man’s Andy Cole.

Perhaps it's just a case of a player that moved on to a team that wanted him and decent coaches to bring him along. Unfortunately As he wasn't one of Malky's favourites he was never gonna get a decent run in the team. Always seemed like a trier and a player who wanted to learn, but we don't seem to be a team that does that since DJ went.

Always thought Rudy was a decent player but not sure he is a £6 million pound premiership striker

He definitely showed signs of improvement during our promotion season, he looked useful a few times coming off the bench as he rattled defenders.
As stated above, the benefit of hindsight but he would have been a MUCH better option to have than Cornelius, glad to see him doing well! Ruuuddy

I think the price is likely more reflective of the inflated transfer market than Rudy's transformation into a Premiership-class striker. Good luck to him though.

I think we were a little short sighted letting him go so quickly.
A loan out for last season would have been fine, seen how he done then reevaluated. But malky loaned him out with the option to buy straight away.

Good luck to him. Good player.

He was sold for £500k to Blackburn but whist everyone appears to think there is not a sell on clause, there must be one in place as Blackburn fans are on about it ?

Nothing curious about it at all. He was scapegoated by our fans when there wasn't much else to moan about and is now making you all look like mugs. He'll be playing in the PL whilst we have Uncle Fester as manager and a team with about as much fight in them as Audley Harrison. Rudy got the last laugh.

Spot on, I liked him, alway gave 100% even when coming on as a sub, I think he would scored a few in the Premier given a chance.
Given away for peanuts just like we did to Ross M, so yes good luck Rudy hope you get the chance to play in the Premier again.
