" Striker Facing Six-Weeks Out "
Wed 28th Jan 2015
Colchester's Cardiff loanee Rhys Healey is set for a spell on the sidelines whereas Ipswich loanee Elliott Hewitt will be suspended if an appeal isn't lodged against his sending off.
Healey was absent from the two-nil win over Leyton Orient with Tony Humes telling the Gazette that this was the case due to him having to undergo emergency surgery on a burst appendix!
All of this simply when the striker had gone for routine dental work....
His loss is of course a blow but Humes feels that we've got sufficient cover to cope without him for a maximum of six-weeks.
He said: 'Rhys went back to Cardiff to get some dental work done and while he was down there, he unfortunately had to have an emergency operation for a burst appendix.
'He'll be out for four to six weeks. We have Macauley Bonne and Jack Marriott and the likes of Sanchez Watt and Gavin Massey can play up front, so there are enough players in there to ensure we`ve got that strength in the squad.'
In the wake of that Leyton Orient win, a crucial win, Hume had also suggested that an appeal against Hewitt's sending off would be put in?
As yet this hasn't been the case, so it would appear we're going to accept the decision and take the suspension....
In actual fact I've just seen a snippet saying that an appeal isn't being made.

The dental work did not cause the burst appendix, surely? Rhys has just been very unlucky. Any medics out there?

How was he doing in league 1 ?
