Let call a spade a spade we can all see what mandate Slade has been given this season...
'bring the squad down to a sensible level, trim the wage budget so that the club can be viewed as a sensible business investment for any future buyer'
In fairness to Slade this is not a nice job to do but he's got on with it and by the end of the season the squad, wages and bills will hopefully be at a sensible level (with some luck we will also still be in the Championship). However the big thing missing is the 90 minutes on a saturday afternoon, there is no game plan, no way of keeping possession and no results to give us the fans something to cheer about
Here's a suggestion, bring in a young, innovative 'future' manager this season who's had experience of playing abroad and can bring a new style and identity to the way we perform. He can then build the new Cardiff way of playing while leaving Slade to continue doing the dirty job of firing players, which is never nice, while the new person can focus on the future and be Cardiff's next manager. In short Slade job is to sort out the mess of the past (which is a massive job), however we need someone to look to the future and I think it's too big a job for one person?
