What's the plan for next season?

Sun Jan 25, 2015 4:01 pm

Let call a spade a spade we can all see what mandate Slade has been given this season...

'bring the squad down to a sensible level, trim the wage budget so that the club can be viewed as a sensible business investment for any future buyer'

In fairness to Slade this is not a nice job to do but he's got on with it and by the end of the season the squad, wages and bills will hopefully be at a sensible level (with some luck we will also still be in the Championship). However the big thing missing is the 90 minutes on a saturday afternoon, there is no game plan, no way of keeping possession and no results to give us the fans something to cheer about

Here's a suggestion, bring in a young, innovative 'future' manager this season who's had experience of playing abroad and can bring a new style and identity to the way we perform. He can then build the new Cardiff way of playing while leaving Slade to continue doing the dirty job of firing players, which is never nice, while the new person can focus on the future and be Cardiff's next manager. In short Slade job is to sort out the mess of the past (which is a massive job), however we need someone to look to the future and I think it's too big a job for one person?

Thoughts...

Slade is in an awful position.

Hatchet man.

To be fair, none of the players that have gone under him have busted a gut for us.
But, this squad don't know if they are coming or going.

Players out of position and all brought in to play for other managers!

This time last year we were fighting in the premier.
We all hoped ole could revive us, but wrong time for him.

We need a strong manager now to regroup the squad and motivate.
We need a manager who wants to play football.

Unfortunately, I think slade is on a hiding to nothing. He will never win over the fans
He will never win over the players.

Tan is a c**t

In a daft way he may be good as a DoF. He knows the colour of money, vinnie appears to trust him.

Bring in a young coach who understands the constraints and gets on with it. It works in US sport, the general manager employs everybody and makes the business decisions for the club.
