DESPONDENT

Sun Jan 25, 2015 10:06 am

Been supporting city for nearly 60 years, but I am really considering giving it up. I do get any enjoyment anymore. really at this moment it's like watching paint dry, in fact it's more entertaining. This is me as a glass half full guy, but really what is the point anymore. It does look like we are heading for league 1. If we were playing any type of good football then that would not matter to me, but this dross is very much like some of the stuff I have seen over the years. Anyway, very nearly decision time, it could go either way, shame really.

I know how you feel and it's such a funny old feeling, maybe with all this dross we simply have fallen out of love for the club.

Yesterday was another prime example coupled with the long lines for food/drink the only thing missing was tumble weed blowing around.

If I don't renew that will be it from the 70's until now, I won't be like these who walked away from the colour change but still go to the meetings and are on the message boards. It will be totally out of it and to me it's still a funny old feeling :old:

Not so much the result but yesterday's football was very difficult to take. There was just nothing.

The truly dire football on offer atm is a real problem for me, playing in red was bareable, the miserable face of Jonesy was bareable, the mixed up football of Ole was bareable but what's on offer at the moment is worse than being tied down and having water dripping on yer head for 2 hours, Christ even Crossroads on telly years ago was more watchable than what's being served up at present.
I put a thread up a few weeks ago questioning my sanity for watching the Rotherham game and missing the Devils game the same evening, one game was total shite and played in near silent atmosphere the other was action packed and played in an atmosphere that nearly lifted the roof off, I was called a plastic etc :argue: the usual shite for even considering watching a different sport. Went to my first game in 1962 and been a regular ever since (but not always s/t holder as couldn't afford to lay out money in one payment), must be honest it's difficult to motivate myself to attend lately and with other alternative attractions on offer I may stray away which would be a shame after being a fan all these years. Some tidy football with a manager that knows what he's doing and some motivated players would persuade me to carry on supporting the team but atm these things are a million miles away.
