Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall undergoes surgery on a long standing groin problem
The Bluebirds stopper has been replaced by Simon Moore recently with Russell Slade hoping to have his No. 1 back later this month
Cardiff City keeper David Marshall remains out of action after having surgery on a long standing groin problem.
The in-demand shot stopper has been out of action since the home defeat against Watford at the turn of the year with an ankle problem but now he's been under the knife at the hands of a German surgeon to solve his groin issue.
Bluebirds manager Russell Slade said: “He had minor surgery in the UK and he's up and about now. He's also making good progress on his ankle problem.”
The Bluebirds host Championship title chasers Derby next Saturday before travelling to Sheffield Wednesday the following week and Slade will hope to have his keeper back by then.
Fortunately for the club, Marshall's injury has meant no bids have come in for him this month.
The Scottish stopper has been linked previously with moves to Premier League clubs Arsenal and Everton.

The only reason he hasn't been sold then ? also heard Lewis has been sent back from Blackpool because they can't afford to keep him
