Wonder why we are in trouble !!!!!!!
Unless Slade buys hard working wide midfielders (like Conway) we are shagged.
IMO - Noone & Harris are not equipped to do the role in a 442, leaving the fans scapegoats Whitts & Gunner constantly fighting a losing battle. Against Fulham Ademyemi played there..
We are in a mess....I think we will get 5 wins nd limp over the line.

We need to clear out the whole midfield fast, maybe except Adeyemi...its shite!

I remember when we played 451 the football managers said to play 442. Even now some say 352 and 451. It's easy to be an expert from the stands.

I think there's no problem per se in any system but it takes a good manager to employ the right system to suit his players' attributes. 4-4-2 would be great if we had the players who could successfully use it but we have nowhere near enough quality in the squad.

The point I am making is we went from Malkys 451 who's view on defenders is they were there to defend, clog the midfield and a single mobile workaholic striker to Oles 433 attacking full backs & target man ,and a narrow 3 man midfield to not sure whatever Slades wants.
We lack a football identity and know we lack identity full stop, but if vinnie is staying he needs a football man in quickly to oversee the club.

The reason were so poor is because of slade and his style of play if you can even call it that .
I'm not convinced he even knows what he's doing himself.
And the players don't either.
No communication between everyone at the club.
We just need solid defence with a hard working midfield who can press them and also attack fast and also come back and defend when needed with a striker who can run around and course the other teams problems with the help from the midfield .
Footballs a simple game when we think about it just too much thinking gos in some times . But when we got the staff we have it ain't going to happen anytime soon

Personally I would go back to a 4-5-1
Our biggest problem is keeping possession, I can't actually remember the last time we had the majority of possession. In fairness I think we have a decent defence, however if the opposition always have the ball and are always running at them they can only defend for so long.
Having 5 in midfield does allow us to play with different systems, Whitts can then move from playing in front of the back 4 to just behind a lone striker during the game and hence change our game plan. This also gives us width with two wide players and hopefully a greater share of possession.
Say what you want about Malky he played a system that got us out of the Championship!
PS I just want to be watching something that's entertaining

Before the turn of the year in that promotion season Whitts had a free role, and wandered all over the pitch to get the ball, but as the season went on he became more and more static, until it was sooooo easy to mark him out of the game....Simple really stop whitts stop Cardiff was the opposition mantra.
I don't get the reluctance to allow him that role again and Bring Ademyemi in as the centre mid with Gunnar - Nobody is playing out of position !!!!!!

I can't either if I'm honest .. That's down to the tactics maybe ? We just invite pressure on to us . Because like I just hinted the midfield don't press together and all other the shop .
The flat 4 4 2 style doesn't suit our players .
Exactly Malky had us organised maybe not playing that much exciting games but it got us results . My dad supports westbrom obviously pulis is there he said they are organised now etc . Some thing we needed but nah we got russel slade .
And
ps so do i !!
