Stink

I accept that we need to get rid of some players and cut the wage bill. I also accept that RS is under orders to carry out the task. But the our efforts in the transfer market STINK.
Any fool can sell or loan some players. The skill lies in
A/identifying those players that can be sold without impacting too much on the team performance, nd
B/ finding "hidden gems" who can be bought cheaply and (hopefully) improve the team
Selling .....
For me I lost faith in RS when he sold Daehli. Imo he was our most naturally talented player with great long term potential. It was unfathomable why he never got a look in when our midfield "stalwarts" were performing so poorly! The club could have built its midfield/team around Daehli for the next 5 to 10 years. Also he cannot have been one of our biggest earners.
Following this we make no attempt to keep Ravel Morrison. Worse still we pay his wages to keep him warming the bench. To compound the mistakes, other players with proven pedigree (eg Guerra) are totally frozen out. Finally,to top it off we play Le Fondre (when He is short of form and confidence) only to loan him out and then still pay 1/2 his wages. You couldnt make it up!!
I'd love to see an accurate list of on our recent purchases and subsequent sales of players and how much money has been spent/wasted.
Purchasing .....we seem to be buying players who used to play for RS at lower levels and who are OK and hardworking. None of them seem to be hidden gems or the type of players who will develop into longer term City legends! On the other hand, while RS seems to emphasise a hard work ethic he has kept Kenwynne Jones (who scores us goals) and Whitts who are not hard working. Also they are not getting any younger.
Now I like hard working honest players - but skill and hard work are not mutually exclusive!
The Group of players he inherited needed to be reduced but, imo, his efforts at achieving that have been very poor and thereby replaced a promising future with a bleak one. VT is a businessman not a footballing man. But RS appears to be unable to tackle football matters both on the field off it. Very sad.
