Yeah let's pay to let them go rather than wait for a fee even if it is small. And then let's pay our striker o play for a rival. Great work.

Maybe I don't have a PhD in football like Tan, so I'm clueless but why aren't we:
Instead of releasing these players to move freely, sell them to a club for virtually nothing or even "sell" them for free to a club, but as part of the no cash sale, we get a hefty sell on clause on future sales. At least we will in the long run get money into the club and at the same time reducing their wages from our bill each month. An example, sell kimbo for £5000 which all clubs would afford and pay, but we demand a 20% sell on. Surely a ridiculous my small transfer fee and a decent sell on is better than no money now and no money later?
At present we are having no prospect of any financial income from releasing these players. Seems mental to me. But what do I know Mr Tan.
