Every transfer is a step closer.....

Sat Jan 24, 2015 9:51 am

To vinnie leaving. So i applaud every sale.

This may leave us unbalanced in players and ability, so be it.

Buying us then executing a savage cost cutting exercise will put off many would be buyers, so Tan is doing us a favour and starting the process of "leaving us in good hands".

With all the sales i bet we are still massively in the red month on month, we need to be in the black to make us a viable option for prospective buyers.

The negativity on here is unfair, Slade is here to keep us in the championship whilst Tans prepares us for sale.

Cardiff City needs to exit the Tan era as quick as possible, to do this we need to leave behind the fantasy football stuff well behind us. Hard working pro's giving all and a few kids coming through will keep me happy...........

But that goes down season on season.....

Let Tan throw the axe around, so the new guy can start with a clean slate

Agree with this . Our May 2015 accounts should show the club in a much better financial position that we have been for years . The big player sell offs and tv cash have hopefully significantly reduced his loan debt . We need to just try to scrap 6 more wins this year . Malky brought in some crap but also brought in some good players who were good enough to get us up . Ole bought utter shit and we are now trying to rebalance the squad after his disastrous spell in charge .

Tan first came into the club as a businessman promising that the club would be run on a sound financial basis. He soon caught the football bug however and began throwing money at the club. Unfortunately, in football, success to a great extent is all about finding the right manager and we all know how difficult it is finding that right manager.

We are all asking for a young, up and coming as opposed to a manager we have who has been around for a long time with limited success but you only have to look at Eddie Howe and his time at Burnley to show that even the the appointment of one of the best an up and coming managers around doesn't guarantee you success.

There were a record number of managerial sackings in English football during the first half of this season so there are a lot of clubs out there who have been unhappy with their managers. Whilst Slade hasn't inspired any great confidence it is probably unfair to sack him now having achieved what Tan has set him, a task of getting rid of the higher paid footballers who to be fair haven't set the world alight and has yet to get his targets in during this transfer window. I suspect Slade will be given more time and will then be sacked before the summer if he fails to inspire has he has done so far. Tan isn't that stupid and Slade knows that in football you have to have succeed on the pitch if you want to keep your job

As for Tan leaving, be careful what you wish for. We all know how difficult it is to succeed in football and at least he has the money behind him unlike any other owner we have had. There are a lot of clubs out there with nightmare owners. Who knows when the decks and have been cleared he can the work his business magic and as long as he appoints the right people who know about football then we may be able to enjoy life going forward both on and off the field now that we are in Blue

Fair comments, but out of curiosity, can you tell me what happens next, i.e. after Tan has gone?

Who is going to pick up the reins and 'back' the club financially to push it forward again?

If (as some claim) "the club can stagnate or even drop back a little, so long as it is in blue", then what is the purpose of the club in the beginning, if it is not to entertain by winning games and advancing to the highest league that it can achieve and what is the point of fans turning up every week other than out of habit?

I've been there when the club were in far worse positions than they are now, playing (believe it or not) a lot worse football and in far worse financial crisis than they (supposedly) are now

It wasn't funny, it wan't even amusing. The drivel we were served up was dire and the atmosphere of a crowd of around 3-4k on a Saturday afternoon (always preferred the night games myself) was a flat as a Yorkshireman's cap!

I'm only asking, because I don't have the simple answer that goes with the "Tan out at all costs mentality of some on here at the moment. After 50 years, I actually WANTED my club to be in The Premier League and (bar the last few weeks) I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of my club being in amongst 'the big boys' and I would like to see it again

Under the ill-thought proposals of some on here (many of whom are no longer paying supporters) that experience is unlikely ever to happen again and that, to me at least, would be a crying shame and a perceived lack of ambition from club and/or fans would leave a questioning mark over the purpose of the club being there in the beginning

I doubt you have the answers, but I ask because you seem to have a sensible and considered approach to your comments

My position constantly changes, not wildly but it drifts.

The problem we now have with mega rich international owners is accessibility. They are not used and do not want the extra publicity of giving interviews to the local rag, so we don'y know what his intentions are.

I honestly thought we would never see him again, he wanted to rid himself of us and the best way to do it would be to drastically run it down to a model championship club.
If the Derby rumours are true, then that may slant my opinion that he may well be in it for the long haul. If he said, no more daft qet there quick routes by spending, i would be more than happy.

I want him gone quickly if he has no interest in the club and we are badly drifting....

So you are correct i have no answers

Can't fault you there. Neither do I have them! LOL

I'd like to think Tan has a 'plan' that will be good for all concerned in real terms, but only time will tell

Off to the game now. Take it easy  :ayatollah:

cutting expenditure to this extent is usually a precursor to the club going on the market. to be honest i think tan has a plan to sell the club in the next year or two.
