' Cardiff Player takes a pay cut to join other Club '
Cardiff City defender John Brayford has signed for League One side Sheffield United on a three-and-a-half year deal.
Brayford, who had a previous spell on loan with the Blades, has returned to Bramall Lane for a fee believed to be between £1.5 and £2m depending on add ons.
John Brayford will take a pay cut to leave Cardiff City & Join Sheffield United
Just read that he will be taking a pay cut to join them and the deal will go through tomorrow for a fee of 2million.
Does anyone know how much he was on at Cardiff?

I heard Brayford was on between 10,000-£12,000, but not 100% sure?

Do you think he'd be on a bit more than that?
Just promoted to the prem paying silly wages etc
If it was only that I'd expect he'd probs be on 8k or so at United

He was on big wages if we did not know before, read slades statement.

Good luck to him.
Been impressed with Brayford this sesson, disappointed we're letting him go and replacing him with someone of Lee Peltier's standard.

We really are going backwards.

Can't see the financial sense in a league 1 club spending £1.5-2M for a full back. They are paying way over the odds. Good business for the club though as he is easily replaceable for a lot less.

Average at best, done nothing while at the club to be considered a loss

Average at best, can't say he outstanding, replaceable, I do think Malky had him summed up .

Sod him if he wanted to leave..........

Disappointed in him on the pitch, showed nothing to support the reputation he had prior to joining us.
If he wanted to leave then

John Brayford's heart is at Bramall Lane. Also a chance to work again with Nigel Clough. Nothing more to it than that. All the best for the future, John. Always did his best for us.

I don't blame him either, how can any player settle at our circus of a club.

We already have a better full back in Connelly no big loss IMO and good business by the club

Tans selling off what he can and that's how's its going to be now. I'm glad we are trying to balance the books while tan will try get whatever he can for players

Good pro - always seemed to give his best. BUT also never looked like his heart was in Cardiff City. Thanks John & good luck at the blades.

Yes everybody knows that but the worry is the standard of players Slade may well bring in. Not even mentioning his tactics, playing style, etc etc etc ....

Standard of players coming in ? The players he's brought in have been the best players on the pitch recently ,

His heart was not here in Cardiff wanted back to Sheffield and good luck to him he was treated like shit by manager when he first came and sent off on loan don't think he owes city any thing he did the job when he got into team now has chance to go where his heart is good luck to him

Not sure but he must have been on a significant amount as malky signed him for the prem
Sat Jan 24, 2015 1:00 pm
Surely Fabio has to be given a chance now
Sat Jan 24, 2015 1:12 pm
£2m is very good business, remember Slade came into Cardiff with a huge squad paying massive wages which was going to send us to the wall without Tan's £m.
As a club we need to take a step backwards in order to move forward. Keep the faith as this season is a write off, lets judge the team on what Slade builds between now and the start of next season.
