The price of returning to Blue

Fri Jan 23, 2015 3:44 pm

Has anyone noticed ? We are just starting to pay it. Some way to go yet though, I fear

There is no price on the blue. We are back to our rightful colours.

Our fans are used to blaming ourselves. Tan has finally realised he didn't know how to run a football club and the blue has been made to seem like some kind of trade.

Imagine what it would be like if we were still red and we were selling off players like we are now? Uproar.

I'm happy with it. Will be great to finally be self sufficient instead of relying on a millionaires money to pay the difference. I would have been happy enough if he was doing this while we were in red.

It's a shame seeing players like Guerra leave after not really getting a chance, and losing quality players with huge potential like Dhaeli, but in fairness, if he's on a big wage and he's not in the side then why keep him? We don't play the right formation or football for him.

I'm happy enough to take a few seasons of balancing the books, just hope it doesn't lead to relegation

We are paying the price for our stupid transfers. Average players receiving substantial wages.

Blue has made this transition more palletable.....It was always going to happen.

All the selling and the withdrawing of money available, started months ago before our return to Blue.
Tan wants out and is stripping us first of any value.

Seems like we have made it easy for Tan then.

Annis I agree but wouldn't be easy to sell with a half decent team unless he his willing to take a big loss, I think that is what is going to happen.

If Tan turns up at the Derby County game he'll get no adulation from me !

He's on a mission - to show us what we'll miss !

The cost cutting was apparent well before the return to blue. :bluescarf:

Exactly and like it or not it is needed. Yes huge mistakes made in transfers but better to rectify and sort the problem now than let it continue. Sensible and we might actually get some players who care about the shirt. :bluescarf:

But surely, Barry even you and Annis have noticed some acceleration in the process.

When the Malaysians came on board they said they were going to run the club as a proper business and I took that to mean trying to break even each year. It's taken them 4 years to get to it but I think it is the right thing to do. I'm sure financial fair play rules are also starting to sink in.

What I don't agree with is why we have to play lump it up to the big man football at the same time. We could try to play good football and use cheap young players rather than the lower league style we currently seem to be heading for.

It's because the transfer window is only open for a certain amount of time. Players couldn't be transferred before January. It's a mere coincidence.

Players were off loaded, wherever possible, when the team were in red. A budget manager waa put in place when we were red. It's been happening for some time. Though I doubt that suits your agenda.
