Good insight in to his mindset, same old shit about players working hard though.

Be good to have him back :thumbright:

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog and it’s been a while since I’ve been in the team as well, due to a really annoying injury. I’ve been a bit down and it’s been a very frustrating time for me recently. I’m at the back end of my rehab now thought which is good. I’ve been running, and taking it step by step. I’m pain free again now so anytime in the next couple of weeks I should be back on the pitch and I can’t wait to be back.

Just before Christmas I had been injured and was trying to train, maybe I shouldn’t have done that in hindsight. I was so desperate to get back into the team and try to be able to play and make a positive impact. I was probably too keen to be honest but any footballer will tell you we hate missing games. I thought it would be ok and ended up doing more damage. This time we are doing everything possible to make sure when I come back, I’m fully fit and ready to go.

It’s no fun missing games. It’s a nightmare if I’m honest with you. I hate missing games (we all do), and it’s so annoying not being able to help the boys. I hate sitting in the stands. Things haven’t gone as well as we all would like on the pitch recently, which makes it even worse. It’s been so frustrating...! Then I go home and I’m frustrated, having been stuck in the gym and not being able to play, so I’m being grumpy with the family and it’s just a tough time all around. Most people don’t see that side of it, but it’s not fun. Fingers crossed I’ll be back soon though and can start enjoying football again.

One good thing that’s happened recently has been the change of the colour of our home kit back to blue. I’m really pleased that has happened. It was massive for the fans and for the club that the owner decided to do that. That first game back in blue was a brilliant day, you only have to see how many people turned up, it was a great atmosphere and it was no surprise to me that we won that day. We had a lot of momentum and it’s been a really positive move. I bet you were all buzzing when you heard the news!

It was important for the heritage of the club to be back playing in blue at home. It gave everyone a lift when it changed. Everyone around the city was buzzing, on the Friday night you sensed it around the area, and especially on the day of the first game after the decision was announced. It had been difficult in the months before that because the fans weren’t happy with the colour. We got the win against Middlesbrough that day though, and almost literally overnight the football club was a better place to be.

Fingers crossed I’ll be back in the next couple of weeks as long as everything goes to plan, and I’ll be able to help the team get a good run going towards the end of the season. We all want to improve and I know the lads are all working as hard as they can to try and start climbing the table as soon as possible.

Thanks to everyone who has sent supportive messages to me on here, I’m really appreciative of that. I’ll be back as soon as I can. Stick with us, and keep supporting the team as you always do. The support really helps and all the lads appreciate it.

Cheers.

Pilks.
