Sheffield United's £1.5m offer for John Brayford -- the same amount Cardiff signed him for from Derby two years ago -- has now been
accepted.
Fair deal?
Le Fondre also on the verge of signing a loan deal with Bolton, as we all know.

Slade has confirmed this within the last few minutes.
"Sheffield United are very keen but it has got to the stage where the club have to decide whether talks can take place. He has been given the go ahead to talk United.
"He would not accept talks if he did not want to go. I can’t speak for John, but I would not talk to a club if I did not want to go to.
"I’ve been honest and told him about approaches. Things get out so I try to be honest. The motivation has come from the player. It’s reached an acceptable level financially.
"Now the ball is in the player’s court.
“He’s been consistent for us. We are going through a stage of transition. Our wage bill is not sustanable. The only way forward is to reduce the wage bill to a sustainable level."

Have to admit I'm not that bothered.
He bombs forward as if he is Cafu.
Wing backs like him are a dime a dozen.
Daelhi was a diabolical decision on the other hand.

its probably his value in this market, its more about the message that we are getting rid of good players and replacing them on the cheap.
it just makes promotion a much harder task getting rid of good players.

I agree I don't rate him half as much as other people do

Not concerned with cutting costs or selling players for decent money. However, I'm very concerned by Slade's tactics, formations, and substitutions. I really don't think he is the right man to rebuild.

I'm not sure what to make of this. We should never have loaned him to Sheffield United in the first place and then he'd never have developed this desire to play for them. He wants to leave though and if we can get £2m for him then even better. Sounds like it will be less.
Really don't think Peltier is the answer though. Think we could get cheaper, younger, and better right backs lower down the leagues.

If he wants to go we have to let him go, his heart is obviously there.
Anyway he could break his leg in his first game and Sheff Utd may miss out on promotion? At least he will be happy plying his trade in Div 1

Slade says "he must want to leave otherwise why would he want to talk to them". I am sorry sladey old boy but if I had to put up with your negative football and lack of motivation I too would walk to Sheffield to get away from him.

I think it's a case of he wants to play more for the manager than the club itself.

I don't mind Le Fondre going. He supposed to score goals. But its a shame with Brayford.

Brayford is not only our most dependable full back, but he's up there with the best full backs in the league. Accepting only 1.5 million for him is scandalous. He's worth at least a million more. I'm surprised nobody else is bidding the 1.5 million as he will be a bargain for any club outside the Premiership for that price.

agree

I agree also, slade is letting decent players go and replacing them with shit. League 1 here we come!

We are going backwards, about 10 years at least

its a strange decision by the player to drop a division, not only that, sheffield are currently 7th.

He's average, nothing more nothing less, I would take 1.5m all day long especially if he doesn't want to be here. Never let us down, wish him well but

players come and players go. Not irreplaceable.

good pro.... the final ball is marginally better than Kevs but not his defending

i havent got a clue whats going on, this is a guy that , while not with us, has been named in the championship team of the year for the last 2 seasons

Ok then, answer this question. Who can we bring in better than Brayford for a maximum of 1.5 million? I can't think of one right back better than Brayford at this level for that price. Like you say, he never let us down. If we had a back 4 of John Brayford's we would be conceding a lot less goals. Selling Brayford for only 1.5 million is scandalous imo.

Mate, we are usually on the same page when I read your posts. I don't disagree with most of what you are saying, I would just cash in if he wants out. Name a full back? I watch as much football as I can but to know every full back in the lower divisions and championship is not my forte, but I don't think he is irreplacble. Theo was a great full back until he lost confidence and way.
