Slade saw his side beaten for the second time on the road in four days as goals from Patrick Bamford and Lee Tomlin sealed their fate
Russell Slade has insisted Middlesbrough got lucky after Cardiff City’s away day issues continued.
Bluebirds boss Slade saw his side beaten for the second time on the road in four days as goals from Patrick Bamford and Lee Tomlin sealed their fate and kept them firmly entrenched in mid-table.
Slade was adamant he would cling to the positives. He said: “I think we looked organised and compact. We reduced Middlesbrough to few opportunities and maybe the first goal was crucial.
"After they got the first we should have managed things better and stayed in the game and Kenwyne’s goal could have been important against a side that don’t concede many.
“We’ve had a response from that first-half against Norwich but ultimately we’ve come away with no points and that’s the frustration, but I still saw positives.”
Russell Slade has said that his Cardiff City troops paid the penalty for conceding the first goal in Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.
"I thought we looked organised and compact and reduced them to only a few opportunities," Slade told Sky Sports News.
"Maybe the first goal was crucial and they got that. It was frustrating because we started the second half well and from a counter-attack they hurt us.
"If we had stayed in the game and not conceded a second then Kenwyne would have got us an important goal. I was pleased with the defensive set-up and we were much more compact. But ultimately we've come away from two away games with no points and that's frustrating."

I used to think you talked Bollocks lol![]()
But yet again I have to agree with you and I must be getting dementia as RS does not see the game the same as me ( and thousands of others by the look of it)

some people think we should be wining to league but this season was always going to be tough after the mess mm and ole left us inBe Blue wrote:I didn't see the game last night, listened to it on Cardiff City Player, but from the sounds of things we were playing a lot better than we have been playing? And the stats reflect that, 44% possession was it? And lets not forget, Middlesboro are one of the better teams in this league, not many go there and win. I think Slade needs this transfer window to get players that will play for the team (and not for their paychecks) in and to get rid of the overpaid guys that couldn't give a toss about the club. Players like Revell are needed, players who will run themselves into the ground. Can we all just give Slade some time to sort out the mess Ole left before we start saying he's clueless, out of his depth etc.?

It's not Slades fault he got the job. It's his fault we are crap though.
Nice bloke but Slade out in my opinion.

I wasn't listening on player, I was on regular BBC radio
Commentators were ALL saying that it was a GREAT game for a neutral supporter as both teams were attacking and defending well (up until 65 minutes at least)
