When we were in possession tonight we looked fairly comfortable without creating Middlesbrough many problems but what worried me was when we were defending we didn't press the ball. Too many times we stood off the ball and allowed Middlesbrough to knock it about.
Looking at the positives, I thought Kadeem was exciting when he was running at the opposition, Revell looks like he could be a decent signing too.
The diamond in midfield was effective in the first half when we had possession but we didn't cover the width quick enough when we lost the ball.
Sean Morrison made mistakes and looked a weak link and was lucky to get away with them.
We look a side that doesn't take a great deal of effort or imagination to break down and once we concede it is difficult to see us coming back into it.
We got a soft underbelly and unless we galvanise then it could be a very difficult couple of months ahead.
Making the long journey home now and it has been two long trips in just a few days with no points to show for it.

2 long trips, 2 losses. Feel for you.

Are you kidding, they are just not good enough and we are turning into a club with no ambition again under Slade and Young. Happy just to knock about in this league. Sorry Carl not good enough.

Toughen up by getting stuck in and not dropping their heads when we concede, mental toughness is needed as much as physical.

down to the manager to motivate from the side lines not just cross your arms and watch

Its not about toughening up. Thats another shit excuse like slade uses, slade needs to go and someone else needs to come in and create a football philosophy to take us forward, pick the right players and formation and have experience and tactical nous when needed, slade cant do none of the above thats why he needs to go.

Thought we might have got something out of this game listening to the commentary on the iplayer
My view is Morrison and Turner does'nt work as a centre back pairing , they are to similar and lack composure on the ball
Connoly is not a full back , but would prefer him as one of the centre backs , until Manga is back
With players leaving and some coming in , who knows how this is going to pan out
We are on a bad run of form and I hope we can get enough points to be safe from relegation

Agree with that Carl.
We were very poor tonight, particularly in the second half, especially at the back. Simon Moore, Sean Morrison and Matt Connolly all made mistakes at some point.
I hope to see an improvement for Derby on the 31st. Can see us being knocked out of the cup before then, though.

Totally agree with Carl guys, mental toughness is just as important if not more than the physical toughness..
If the boys are going into games low on confidence (which I'm sure they are) and thinking we are gonna get beat or we ain't gonna score if we concede first then what's the point..
I also believe that this confidence has to come from the top (Slade) and from a leader on the pitch (which we don't have) in order for it to infiltrate through the team and to the terrace..
Individually and on paper we have got a good decent squad, however I firmly believe that Slade isn't the man to take us forward as it does look like he can't get the team playing for him, as I don't think there's any confidence there in terms of management..
His time is up and he has to go, however we know it won't happen (this season at least) as he is Tans appointment but something drastic has to be done now in order to stop the rot or it really could be league 1 next season.
Hats off to the guys that have made the 2 long trips away and spending a fortune by doing so just after Xmas and with thete playing as poor as they are..
