' UPDATE from the Vale 19/01/2015 '

On a freezing cold morning I braved the elements to bring you this :thumbright:

Got there about 10 30 am met a guy called victor from Malaysia who was waiting for the under 21 to start their training .
He told me he was in Cardiff with them and 2 under 18 players ,I asked what level they were in Malaysia ,he said they were internationals at their age groups and were the pick of the bunch .

He then introduced them to me when they came out and when I asked them if they liked our weather they both did a shiver expression.i was enjoying questioning victor and he was happy and genuinely keen to talk, however security arrived and said he had been told to remove the football fan (me) I nearly said it cant be me I support Cardiff city

I was escorted off the Cardiff City site . :o

But fear not I merely sat in my car and waited until the players went down the bottom training field and followed them.

This was 12 noon before they started with 15 minutes of warm ups followed by 15 minutes of very light ball work which consisted of jogging with ball over about 5 yards and weaving between posts ,this was followed by more slow ball work but over 10/12 yards for about 15 minutes.

Now the awkward bit to describe they were set up as 2 teams, basically just stood in their positions, and a coach sort of described a situation and got them at walking pace to move to where they should go ,it took ages to set up I was totally bemused and sadly the players looked as bemused as I was , I watched this for about 10 minutes and was losing the will to live and decided to give up and left .

The session was with about 18 outfield players and in my eyes was done with NO SPEED by any of the players ,Kenwynne Jones looked comfortable and should be ok, players missing of note today were Gunnarsson, Brayford, Mallone, Ralls, Turner marshall please bear in mind I could not get very close due to security but im pretty sure they were not there ,moore and Wilson trained seperatly with Margetson,I think Hyland was still with us .I believe the point of this exercise was to get them pressing the ball we will see tomorrow if its worked I hope this was of interest .

Finally I managed to get a quick chat with one of the coaches (sorry don't know his name ) I asked if they were flying up to Middlesborough and he said yes tomorrow morning ,I said see you up there ,he replied just check before leaving as there is small chance of a postponement due to weather conditions ,he also commented about how great our fans are to do Norwich and Middlesborough away in 4 days :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
