Season over by mid January?

I suppose we have been spoiled for a number of seasons recently insofar as every season in the recent past has seen us involved in play-offs, Cup Finals, promotions and last season, relegation whereas to me it seems this season is virtually over already.

We are stuck in mid table, 17 points from top spot and 17 points from bottom spot.

Surely no-one who has seen us play this season can honestly believe we can get promoted this season. I am far more certain that we won't get promoted than I am certain that we won't get relegated and I'm more concerned that we get to the necessary points for safety than thinking about getting into the play-offs.

Been a long time since we had a season just drifting to mid table mediocrity although to be fair it's really not that long ago that a boring season in the Championship with a mid table finish would have been considered a great season!

We and are still in the Cup and a good chance to blood some youngsters and build for next season.

Plenty to keep us interested.
