MANAGING

Sat Jan 17, 2015 10:46 pm

You may well say what do I know.
Well I manage a team of 11 people who are responsible for a book of business circa £45 million PA.
I also played with LTFC when I was a school boy @ 14.

I'm sorry but we have been crying out for pace and the ability to send a 45 degree pass to cut through a defense.
So why has Harris been on the bench FFS he is exactly what the side need.
Today nobody was in front of the striker until he came on and that changed the game I was so pleased that he scored I sat on many a Monday evening watching the under 21's and he never failed to impress.
I'm not asking for a change of manager. That would be suicide
IMO Slade needs to realize which players can make a difference and open up a defense and I am very pleased that our new centre forward got his goal but you play with two pacey wingers and that way the winger that provides the cross to the target man has the other winger to play off any knock downs its not rocket science and when we are going forward would stop our midfield being overrun, Whitts is very creative but with Gunnar there is no pace.

This team needs a strong focus to deliver. It wasn't a bad performance today could have been so much more organised had the pen gone in we would have said that's a good point.

The point is play to our strengths.

Come on Russell inject the pace and the opposition will take notice have a look at the tapes of Brentford and Bournemouth if you need to be convinced.

If we look at the last Four Managers that we have had,

DJ. Very stubborn and dire personality but he knew a bargain and we played some attractive football. Never had a penny to spend but delivered. I didn't like him but he delivered without money.

MM. I was happy with his appointment, the players were fit but played a rigid formation even though we got promoted the style of play was not us and then to find out about him personally and the money he spent Hmmmmmmmm.

OGS. Looked a good appointment but buying players willy nilly, no fitness no style, surprised he lasted so long.

RS. On paper deserved a chance, but looks totally out of sorts, again no style or shape. Same old excuses coming out, week in week out. Who is next.

We need a leader as Manager, Blue is not the excuse anymore.

Any DJ out there?.................
