Snubbed by Cardiff City, outcast Javi Guerra handed chance to fire Malaga into Uefa Champions League
He wasn't good enough for Russell Slade's Cardiff but Spanish striker Javi Guerra has his sights set on some big La Liga clashes against Real Madrid and Barcelona
Cardiff City outcast Javi Guerra has declared he is ‘excited’ by his fresh start in Spain and is focussing upon scoring the goals which can help fire Malaga into the Uefa Champions League.
The Spanish hit-man has never had a look-in under the Russell Slade Bluebirds regime, forced to kick his heels in frustration despite the indifferent run of results.
But Malaga, seventh in La Liga, completed a loan deal until the end of the season which sees Guerra given the chance to help take the Costa del Sol outfit into European dreamland.
According to Malaga’s director general Vicente Casado, five other clubs were also keen to land Guerra who was such a sensation in La Liga before moving to south Wales.
Guerra will be officially unveiled as Malaga player at a Press conference on Friday night and could make his debut in Sunday’s clash with rivals Sevilla.
Malaga will weigh up Guerra’s fitness, following months of inactivity with Cardiff, before determining what role he plays in that game.

Why do you not think under two managers he was never given a chance? It's politics or something a miss, that's my opinion. If he was great it training and hitting the net and was fit he wouldn't have been ignored. What I seen of him he looked different class but it was very little.

Whoever followed Solksjaer faced a challenging task integrating our more skilful players into a team which could challenge in the Championship. Regrettably Slade and his assistant Young appear out of their depth to me.
Good luck to Javi Guerra in La Liga, it will be interesting to see what he really can do when given a chance.

I don't understand any of this.
If Guerra does well there at Malaga then Slade, Young and gang have a lot of explaining to do.
