Simon Moore to replace marshy?

Wed Jan 14, 2015 10:06 pm

Had huge praise when number one for brentford, touted as a future England keeper. The little I have seen he has looked confident and assured and a big unit. Love marshy and a very loyal servant, such early days for Moore and a lot to learn but who would accept Marshy leaving and this enthusiastic lad coming in?

No problem for me, seems unlikely now though unfortunately.

Moore does seem an all round better keeper than Marshall. But marshalls speciality is saving things you really shouldn't save. I thought Marshall was dodgy in dave Jones era, amazing in malkys era, now dodgy again. Is this down to margetson? I said this may happen when margetson returns on another thread. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't push Marshall out of the door...

But there's a little something inside me which prefers Moore. He commands the box more and he can make some "show stopping" saves.

I'd have no problem with him as our #1

I got shouted down at the start of the season but I really thought it was the best time to sell him.

Moore I will judge after a run of games

You were probably right but while you got that one right , no doubt you got some wrong. You can never tell with the timing. Marshy is an outstanding keeper but while we would have got 8-10 m in the prem you would now get 5m. He is a top international keeper and your right Moore is to early to judge

They were saying 10mill in the summer? Surely we should push for more than 5 mid season

Hopefully the competition he gives Marshall improves both, wouldn't sell Marshall yet. We haven't seen much of Moore, but he's been solid when asked to step up to the plate.

Not really about right or wrong it's just my opinion.

Its obvious his price was only going to decrease though.

Well it looks like that opinion was right but one never knows, 10 m was speculation

Indeed, I'd have took anything around the 6m mark.
I'd think his value will be around 3/4m now.
