Current trialist Khaleem Hyland's spell at Cardiff City has gone well so far according to manager Russell Slade.

The 25 year old midfielder is a close friend and international colleague of striker Kenwyne Jones, and he was recommended to us, with Jones putting in a good word or two as well ahead of a possible transfer from Genk.

Speaking to Wales Online, the manager said.

'First impressions are good, he had a good first session with us, but it's early days yet. He came recommended and Kenwyne has told us a lot about him so we thought we would invite him over. He's a big strong lad and very combative in the middle of the park. Saying that though technically he is very good as well.'

Slade adds that really he couldn't have made a better first impression since arriving with us, but obviously we need to see how the rest of the trial spell goes before any real decisions or potential conversations are had
