Arron Gunnarsson
linked with Burnley. would you sell ?
Gunnarsson the Bluebird to fly North?
According to the Daily Mail, Burnley could be considering bringing Icelandic international midfielder, Aron Gunnarsson to Turf Moor although the same paper also suggests they could be more interested in West Brom`s Graham Dorrans who also has Premier League experience.
The 25 year old Gunnarsson is considered quite versatile and can also play at right back. He started his professional career with local Icelandic side Þór Akureyri in 2005 before moving to the Netherlands a year later to play for AZ. He became familiar to UK football fans when he signed for Coventry City in June 2008 after agreeing a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. In June 2008, he signed for Cardiff City on a three-year contract again for an undisclosed fee. Since playing for the Bluebirds he has notched up 134 appearances scoring 16 goals.

yeh i mentioned that the other week. dont think it will make much difference if a prem club came knocking

i don't think he's good enough for premier league football. i'd be very surprised if burnley want him.

Ralls is a better player.

Ralls better than Gunner ?
honestly believe this side needs Gunnarsson even if its just for his long throws. we have such a big side and we only seem to score from set piece goals. only way we looked like scoring against fulham was flooding the box with the big men then lumping it in. certainly is a weapon. slade setting us up to how Stoke used Delap a few years ago with all their big players

Gunner frustrates me a bit from time to time but can we really afford to sell another International and a countries Captain, only to replace him with a lower division nobody.
How often can we boast regular Internationals amongst Cardiff players!

I think that once we are safe we need to get away from that type of football. Waiting for Gunnarsson to fetch the towel then wipe the ball and wind up the throw really slows down the pace of the game and is horrible football to watch.

Unfortunately, in no way is Gunnar a Premiership player and I cannot see any Premiership club coming in for him. Up until recently I could not work out how he managed to get in our team but now we have lost quality players he is finding is way into the team. He has also found his long throw again which obviously helps his case.

I love Gunnar, shows more passion for the club than any other player on the pitch.
Would be very sad to see him go, but if the offer was in the millions then it would be hard to say no.

I'll gladly drive him! Take away his long throw, doesn't offer as much as he should!

I honestly think Cardiff would be lucky to get 500k for him. He was dreadful in the Premiership season and was clearly out of his depth. He seemed slow, his passing was poor and he gave away ( and still does) needless free kicks particularly on goalkeepers!

On 20 odd grand a week I doubt it would be the first of his worries!

agree he seems to care, which you don't see too often nowadays.
he has his limits technically but he is most certainly a player i want to see remain a bluebird for the foreseeable future

Spot on!
Much as it hurts to lose his ballistic throws, if the money is right, all the best!
That's the way football works. If the money outweighs the priority to retain, bye bye
Having said that, he has created several goals this season from set pieces. Most clubs don't really consider a throw-in as a set piece, but when you have Gunnar's throw, it's a huge advantage. Hope we get this right.

I honestly don't know if people have been watching games in the last two months. Gunnars has been terrible. No impact at all apart from throw ins. Ralls represents real potential : good tackler, better passing range and much better running at defences. His problem (not really his) is that he has been played out of position too often. Last season in the Premiership Gunnars made even less impact.

If he goes we will need a new attacking plan, or someone else to take long throws !
I have worked out Russell's tactics.
Keeper hits it long every time, and it goes into touch of a head
We win 50% of the throws (between half way line and their box)
Gunner takes a long throw
We score or get a corner
They get the ball & attack
Repeat
As long as we dont concede, its a no brainer !

I like Gunnar. Works hard for the team and is the type of player we need down in the championship.
Every player has their price though so wouldnt be surprised if he was sold for a few million. Would be sad to see him go as he is certainly a player who cares about the club.

Are you saying there are no 500K houses to be bought up north? The value of his house is certainly not going to be a deciding factor of whether he stays or not - players have to sell up and move on all the time.. it's the nature of their profession.

He isnt a prem player but im happy for him to stay here for now.

I'm saying he bought it only this month which would be a bit weird if he was going to go
