Cardiff City hit with injury crisis
" UPDATED "
David Marshall is out injured for at least 3 weeks.
Sunday 11/01/15
Cardiff City have injury worries over goalkeeper David Marshall, Anthony Pilkington, Kenwyne Jones and Federico Macheda as they prepare for a crucial run of Championship fixtures over the rest of this month.
The Bluebirds face Norwich and Middlesbrough away and joint leaders Derby at home between now and the end of January, three fixtures which pose major tests for manager Russell Slade’s team.
Pilkington, who has a hamstring injury, won’t play in any of those matches, while Marshall, Jones and Macheda will all be assessed later this week.
Early thoughts from the Cardiff camp suggest Marshall and Jones have a chance of being ready for the long trip to Norwich on Saturday, while Macheda is doubtful.

Meh, either Revell or a midfield player on for Jones with Le Fondre up front. Moore fills in easilly for Marshall and did a great job Yesterday. And I don't think Macheda was going to get another game anyway...
I Wouldn't panic either way. would be nice to have jones and marshall as options but I wouldn't use the term crisis

Totally agree

From what I saw Saturday I think the new lad up front offers at least as much if not more than Jones.
I know we've only seen him once but for me he's already a better option.

I'm hoping it wasn't just a case of "Ï'm new, better put in a good shift" and he will stop trying as hard after a few games, but I agree, I liked what I saw yesterday. Some lovely flicked on headers and passes to link up play between midfield and Le Fondre (Who I still think deserved a goal yesterday with the shift he put in)
He's got the height with him, and he's got some fight. A good signing and definitely worth a first team spot.

I seen him few times last season and thought he put himself about well so don't think it's a one off cos every time I've seen him he puts a shift in

Sounds good, like I say, I hope it continues. Him and Malone both looked excellent yesterday... And the people moaning about us signing from lower league clubs seem to have shut up since then (it may just be since the majority (so far) have voted for Malone as our MOTM

Take a look at Revell's wonder goal on YouTube from Wembley play off final.Absolutely staggering

Revell and Jones would be a good partnership. Revell and ALF = a combination which doesn't score goals.

Macheda being injured is a blessing not a crisis!

If there’s any truth in the rumours Marshall is on the way to Everton then we have to stick with Simon Moore, he did well last Saturday a good shot stopper, brave, willing to come off his line and dare I say it his distribution is better than Marshall.
I thought Jones was poor against Fulham and we were a much better side in the second half without him. First half anyone who won the ball looked up and hoofed it up to Jones. Without him in the second half we started to put passes together and keep it on the floor. Alex Ravell will do a much better job for us with his wiliness to run in to spaces off the ball and put in a full shift.Shit hot in the air as well
Le Fondre up front with

Joe Ralls playing behind him and helping out the midfield .......... step up Joe Ralls

who can argue with that, getting a severe crisis in that area we might get to see the best striker at the club get a game, prob score a hat-trick, then sold back to Spain

Moore looks solid to me and as I have said in another post - Revell put more than a shift in and won most headers. Id like to see him upfront more tbh he works hard!

Exactly.
He asks - 'what would we have done if we hadn't brought Revell in'?
'We would have have to have played Harris up front'?
What about Maynard & Javi?

Ideal opportunity to see if they can build a partnership with Revell
