I honestly thought malky would turn it around there, theyve still got some really good players at this level.

Yep they was 2nd bottom when he took over. I feel for the wigan fans as hes got no money to spend not that i blame the owner for not giving him any as i wouldnt give him 50p plus they have to watch his boring hoofball and sit back trick weekly.

I said it before. The manager is not as important as one may think.

Just proves a point, he needed Tan's money to progress...

All together now.. Please sack Mackay, Malky Mackay. :laughing6:

Now that's not true is it. Malky's achievements in his first season assembling our team largely from free transfers proves you're talking nonsense.

All most as bad as some of us asking for slade to be sacked after a month.

If you want some perspective.

Re: Wigan fans giving up on malkay already.

they may have been free
but I bet they had large signing on fees and very good wages , why else did they come to us :bluescarf:

Youve forgotten how much it cost to get them to sign for us? Wages signing on fee bonuses ect ect bet wasnt for free! :laughing6:

Of course the players weren't free but ive got to disagree with most of you.Playoffs and carling cup final was a very impressive first season for malky

Every free transfer involves wages, signing on fees and bonuses, not just Malky's free transfers.

My point was Cardiffcitymad is wrong saying Malky needed Tan's money to progress. Malky didn't need Tan's money during his first season as he took us to the playoffs and Carling Cup final with a very limited transfer budget.

Your reference that Malky paid over the odds in wages during his first season is news to me. It seems you have some inside info here if you claim to know the contracts of every signing Malky made during his first season. I'm sure you wouldn't mind sharing this info with us and let us know the contract details of these players? Just to remind you, Malky's permanent signings during his first season with us were:

Don Cowie
Aron Gunnarsson
Andrew Taylor
Rudy Gestede
Robert Earnshaw
Joe Mason
Craig Conway
Kenny Miller
Ben Turner
Kadeem Harris

I will look forward to your response.
