A balance book and a happy fan base will help this along. Hopefully we can consolidate our Championship position making us a bit more attractive to a new buyer.

I think the club living within its means and being less reliant of Tan is a good thing, don't you? No it was the FA Cup game and talk of a League game and season ticket sales. Tan wanted now to do it a different way. He threw money at it and that did not work. I think there are a number of factors behind the decision to reverse the re-brand decision and whilst his mother may have spoken to him in my opinion the decision is almost totally a business one.

VT wants out and to get the maximum possible amount for the club he needs to have a good number of season tickets sold, he also needs to balance the books as quickly as possible hence selling any player that will bring good money in (including Marshall) whilst signing players for a fraction and paying them a fraction of what we have been doing over the last couple of seasons.

In my opinion this "Consultation Meeting" with fans was what I call PR masterbation as the fans came out believing they had been listened to, which to a point they had been, but the decision to reverse the re-brand had already been taken before the meeting had taken place.

All the talk about having a board meeting the following day, reporting back to VT and making an announcement less than 1 hour later that included thanking the Football League for giving the reversal thier approval and they expect fans to believe it. How does it all go Hmmmmmm. In my opinion the decision was made before the invitations to the meeting were ever sent out.

I'm not saying for a second the decision isn't right because it needed to happen but ALL of this happened less than 7 days after that shocking attendance against Colchester. I'm delighted that the rebrand has been booted into touch at Cardiff City. I'm also delighted that the club are starting to balance the books. I make no apologies for wanting to see the back of Tan though. It will be very hard for the club to really move forward while he is still the owner.

If that makes me a moaner, then so be it.

Thursday was the meeting, Friday the announcement then Saturday we are playing blue. I can't see the FA agreeing to us playing blue that quick. This would have to be arranged well in advance.

Personally I don't care if it was organised is advance or overnight. My concern as mentioned by CB is what about next season? Does this apply to the next campaign because I cannot see it. I think it is going to be best we all wait for next season kits announcement before we renew/start renewing again.

I really don't think so. Realistically, Tan is not going to be able to sell the club for the price he needs, (around £140m as I cant see him settling for a loss) until we return to the premier league and have survived for at least a year. No matter how good the P+L looks in the championship, the value of the club all comes down to the balance sheet and projected future earnings (just by selling 20k Season tickets for next season this wont make the club worth £140m). "Balancing the books" as you put is is not going to improve our financial position, only prevent us from running into more debt to tan by ensuring he doesn't need to keep pumping more money into the club every month just to keep us running.

I think Tan has finally now learned that throwing money at the situation wont guarantee success in football and I believe he is finally going to try and go about it the right way and willing to stick it out until we get to the premier league. After all he can bide his time to get his money back - he's not exactly short of cash. That why he will never take a loss by selling us while we are in the championship
