Away days in Red

Sun Jan 11, 2015 1:21 pm

Football shirts aren't cheap and for many years now I haven't worn any colours. Thats mainly from choice. I've always felt though that the club should play our home games in blue and I also knew that once we used the right approach and stopped the mass abuse we'd get our way.

I go to most away games and I've secretly admired both the blue shirt wearers and the two 'old girls' who've continually worn their red shirts with pride. I've chatted with them both a few times and they're as genuine a City fan as any I've met.

Anyway I'm now considering buying a red shirt, both to show my thanks for the turnaround and to show my support at away games.

Will we start to see more red than blue at away games eventually. I'd like to think that it would be the right way now to follow the City by wearing the same colour as the team.

We will never see more red than blue at away games. Not a hope in hell! I never wore colours, but since the rebrand wore blue to every game home and away and now I always will wear blue with my blue scarf to keep our identity strong. Red is not part of our identity it's just a reminder to me of the worst 3 years as a city fan I've ever had. But each to there own I'm not guna go scowling or slagging people off :bluescarf:

We have had a red away shirt before people seem to forget that :laughing6:

I don't think you should buy one to show thanks for anything. If you want to buy one do it to show support for the team or because you like the look of it!

Different ball game Ian.

The colour red was not the issue but the taking away of our identity. Red will be an uncomfortable colour for a while until people feel comfortable that the blue is here to stay.

I can live with the "away kit" with the hideous badge being use at home until the end of the season. Of course the blue could have got another kit design before last Saturday but lets not be too demanding hey. Even so I would never buy a kit with that badge on. Come next season and the blue remains then that's a different ball game.

We are blue now I couldn't care if the away end is red, or if we have red in the home end. People need to stop making an issue of this. Wear what you want.

Won't have any problem with fans buying the red away shirts as of next season. We've had a history of red away shirts over the years. The only issue I've ever had was the team not playing in blue at home and fans supporting the red movement when we were a red club. :thumbright:

I have no issue with red away shirts - all is well now.
I would in theory now wear a red shirt to an away game but I can't see myself buying one.
The red that has crept in around the stadium that used to break my heart does not bother me now we are restored to blue home kits. I just want to see the bluebird badge replaced on the front of the stadium and I'll be satisfied. (As long as the new badge is OK)

Anyone think we're likely to play in red against Norwich?

We have had a red away kit many times in our history. But right now I feel that I never want to see a red shirt on a City player ever again. But will have to put up with it away I suppose. :bluescarf:

Definitely , I would think we will wear red at every opportunity away now unless there is a clash so we would have to wear blue. I'm happy with this though don't care what colours we wear away now as long as we are blue at home :bluescarf:
