Yeah, thats what happens when you sell arguably the best leader in the Championship, Mark Hudson. A true leader, ready to put his neck on the line and lead his men into battle. Letting him go was one of the most idiotic things we've done under Tans reign.

37 percent possesion at home against a very poor team answers it all he still hasn't s clue
Sat Jan 10, 2015 8:18 pm
I don't think a leader would make much difference, it's a manager we need.
Sat Jan 10, 2015 8:21 pm
It currently shows how good Mark Hudson was as our Captain , stupid to let him leave , short sighted fools
Sat Jan 10, 2015 8:30 pm
didn't take you long to get back to your tricks and new agenda annis
give him until the end of February your so kind
that's 6 games after the transfer window closes
or nine more games from now
that would leave 12 more games to the end of the season
what would you want to do bring in a new manager with 12 games left
you are joking yes
its got to be to the end of the season as a minimum ffs
or is it still based on the fact he was tans choice and tan will support him
Sat Jan 10, 2015 8:33 pm
very misleading headline annis
it reads as if slade is saying it rather than you telling him / us YOUR oppinion

I'm just stating what I feel and see Vinnie
Ive already said he is here till the end of May,but yes if by the end of Feb the results got worse and the football, yes I would change managers ready for next season.

I agree,but not Slades fault.

I really hope that Russell Slade is just a steady the ship appointment and Vincent Tan looks for a new manager to push us on next season.

I think expectations have to be managed here. Slade only knows a lower standard of football and is clearly uncomfortable managing more skilful players who generally don't even make the bench let alone the starting 11. It's going to be 4-4-2, hit it long, concede possession and rely on dead ball situations. The future seems to be getting rid of our more talented players and play dull football. Hope I'm wrong.

The appointment of Slade a strange one especially as we need to get back to the premier. Well according to the board we need to.
Personally I feel if he does not show improvement after a window then end of February perhaps going into March is a good time for a change. However if Tan wants premier football it has to be a more experience guy with premier experience else it would be a waste of time.

We need someone with creativity...we only look like scoring from set pieces & that will only get us so far in this league.

Agree with you. Thats why I said Tan's reign as opposed to Slade's reign.

I think the players Slade is bring in is a step back not forward. I cant see Malone is better than Fabio and although we won today if we were up against a better team we would have had a big Job again on our hands , We think we still lack that spark and creativity in Midfield.

Even if he is just the same he's probably on 1/8 of what Fabio earns a week and that's all that matters

it seems that slade is being told he is to operate on a lower budget than we're used to in recent history at CCFC. expectations therefore need to be lowered slightly, but this being modern football, there is a cats chance in hell of that happening!
we had a leader, mark hudson, i knew we'd need a strong character like him but most were happy to see the back of him so we got what we deserved there.
mid table beckons i feel

i thougt the 2 new signings done well
the diamond shape in midfield is letting us down
i think 5 in midfield with revell up front will suite whits and all more
when pilks is fit with noone out wide the other side i think we will be a better side

Do you think we would be flying high with Hudson then? I don't.
I think dropping a man back into midfield would be more effective than adding Hudson back into he team.

Possession isn't the be all and end all. There's a good article on the beeb about Everton this season. Now that Martinez is having a greater influence on the side, possession has increased but results have gotten worse. This looks like the players are now trying to retain possession rather than play a riskier pass or cross into the box because they don't want to lose the ball.

Shouldn't be in a position where a manager is on a learning curve (he obviously is at this level)need a man who already knows this league and the requirements to compete in it.
Sun Jan 11, 2015 1:55 am
I think Slade should try and get Mark Hudson back here before the end of this January. Sell Morrison.
Sun Jan 11, 2015 7:16 am
We need a midfield. Our possession then would be vastly improved. It always seems to be defenders and strikers we r looking at and not in the midfield where we need it most.
Sun Jan 11, 2015 11:11 am
We need someone to control the play in midfield, yesterday we had three CM's playing in the middle, so much so that I couldn't actually work out who was supposed to be playing on the right, and all 3 of them were being overrun.
We could also do with some pace in the side, slowest I've seen for years, mind you, Kadeem Harris should plug this gap if he plays longer than a minute
