Here is a piece I completed yesterday on the 2.5 year struggle to have blue restored.
It's 5,500 words, so a bit of a long read (!) - you might barely have time to read it before the match!
Had hoped a newspaper might take it, but f**k it, I'm going to put it up now anyway.
Just in case there are any newspapers who would still be interested in it, please get in touch.
Well done all.

Sadly, this meeting lacked proper cohesion, and had no solid intentions as to how to progress. What made things far worse was the presence of one particular prominent Cardiff fan, Gwyn Davies, formerly of the much respected Valley Rams, accompanied by two of his cronies. Gwyn cuts quite a formidable figure in terms of body stature alone, and his friends equally do not look like people to mess with. Gwyn threw in a total unexpected curveball, in a meeting which was expected to be all about opposing the rebrand, by announcing that he essentially was backing Tan’s proposals.
Gwyn’s argument was that we should back Tan because of the money, that he wanted to see Cardiff City promoted, that it would still be Cardiff City playing regardless of the colour of the kit, and he then even went as far as threatening anyone who might disrupt Cardiff’s push for promotion. He proceeded to completely disrupt the meeting in an apparently intentional way, forcing the meeting to eventually wind up without any proper conclusions having been made.

Fans on the opposite side of the room to Gwyn, which included myself, frequent drinking buddy, Carl, and a couple of his friends who were vehemently against the rebrand and were discussing action to take to oppose it, were appalled at all of this. As far as we saw it, the history of the club was being disrespected and disregarded. We were very much in the anti-red camp from the offset, the irony being that we might have been considered on the left side in terms of our politics and our anti-authoritarian attitude.
