A Hollow victory

Fri Jan 09, 2015 12:19 pm

Assuming we return to playing in blue shirts I can't help but feeling that most of us have reneged on an agreement with Vincent Tan. While I did not share the same view as those who boycotted from the start of the re-brand, I nevertheless respected their decision. But the vast majority accepted the re-brand reluctantly, myself included, in exchange for Tan's money for new players etc. which he duly provided. Now we have called off the deal and are expecting Tan to do as we want. The whole thing leaves a bit of a nasty taste in my mouth and I am wondering if I am alone in thinking this.
On the positive side, it does appear that the fans acted with at least some dignity last night but I hope against hope there will be an absence of triumphalism if the expected return to blue transpires.

He didn't fulfil his side of the bargain. The debt to equity never happened. I certainly think you're in the vast minority with your views. I won't slate you for it though. You're entitled to them. I don't agree with you though. Then again, I didn't agree with the rebrand.

Its time to draw a line under it all now.We have all learnt lessons from this experience and both sides have died a little in this pointless dispute instead of pushing the club forward. He wont walk away because he is a proud man, and a stubbon man to some extent, but dont expect the level of committment money wise from him anymore. He will try and get us promoted or at the top end of the league and sell at the first opertunity unless the city crowd suddenly warm to him and his ways.

No you are not the only one who thinks this. I take my hat of to those on both sides of the divide who have shown integrity, but unfortunately they are in the minority. Clearly there are many City fans who have little or none.

I genuinely think that Tan will be sucker for a bit of affection from us the fan base, if we embrace him as owner for doing us to keep us happy, we can have some sort of rekindled relationship.

Let's have the stadium packed on Saturday. A bouncing atmosphere and getting behind the team will show tan (and the lads on the field) that with the club back in blue we are in for the long run

I'm not sure where the hollow victory part comes into it butt. We are the Bluebirds once again and looking to start playing back in blue as long as possible. It;s the thing that most people have been petitioning for / speaking up for for the past two years

It;s a happy day! :D Celebrate with us :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Colourblind you will always be Red, we all know that fortunately for the 99% majority we are Cardiff City and we are now Blue. Maybe you could become the fan leader of the 1% and start a back to Red campaign, would be idea get on it.

Now why would I want to lead a back to red campaign. I have made it clear on numerous occasions that the colour of the shirts does not bother me. My only concern is for Cardiff City to win as many games as possible and as a bonus playing good football. Anything wrong with that?

Never said that. In fact I was pointing out the possibility that Tan could give us back the blue shirts with one hand and change our name with the other. To me this would be far, far worse than playing in red. Get it now? Or would you settle for a name change as long as we wear blue? I'd be interested to know.

What the hell are you on about. Your the only one talking of a name change and we all know the FA wouldn't allow that.
No to name change, no to red.
