Ched Evans - your view - his future

Fri Jan 09, 2015 8:44 am

I don't know if this has been done havent posted for a while

The whole things a bit touch and and go isn't it, he hasn't admitted guilt but he hasn't been found innocent so in the eyes of the justice system he is a guilty man therefore until he's found innocent (which I totally believe he is) he will be seen as a rapist. Clubs do not want to associate with a rapist, would you want to be known to bother with a rapist. It's not good for business. He's a public figure, a bricky isn't, so for those of you who say if a builder gets let out of jail he gets his livelyhood back so should ched, you need to remember he's supposed to be a role model And kids are supposed to look up to him. Also if it was a member of your family he'd allegedly raped then you'd want him dead. When he's found innocent though he will be loving it as

1.he will get a national apology, people truly will have to eat their words

2.he will get compensation for the time he spent in jail (which will be a good whack

3.he will sue that stupid girl who cried rape, for slander - dragging his name through the mud ( he will make thousands off that)

4.he will be able to claim loss of earnings as he was under contract at the time he went into jail so all the money he could of earned he will be entitled to.

5.that girl might even go to prison for the damage she's done.

Karma has a funny way of coming around, ched Evans to win the euros for Wales.

(Sorry if this was written badly I'm knackered been a long night in work)

Evans is right on one thing, all the clubs will give into abuse & intimidation. It seems if a tiny minority of vocal people have got their way. Everyone deserves a second chance but I can't see a club standing up to the threats (verbal & financial).
It's going to be great to see the verdit overturned...these same people won't be so vocal in their apologies.

I don't know if he is guilty or innocent.

He HAS been convicted and is now a sex offender. The conviction can't be overlooked

He has NOT "served his time" as many people are saying. He's served half his sentence and is still serving under license. (probably the reason his move to a foreign club fell through)

He may well believe he is innocent. If he is, obviously he deserves to play for whoever he wants

He currently has his second appeal running, after the first was declined.

With all that, being a convicted man, I believe his options are simple. If he truly believes he is innocent (and I am not ruling that out) he needs to wait for an appeal to acquit him of the crime before moving to another club in the UK. If he had just waited until the current trial is complete (and he had been found innocent after all) then there would be no trouble in him getting another club.

Currently, I would NOT want him at City. I do not want the publicity of signing up a convicted sex offender

What happens if his appeal is unsuccessful? Will the people who defended him to the hilt say that he's a rapist then?

Probably not. The amount of rape apologists on the WO facebook is horrendous. Even women on there
