Mass boycott???
Colchester in the 3rd round of the cup and live on bbc on a friday night.
wouldnt say it was mass boycott as we would have had only 8-9k at best anyway.

Was seen as a mass boycott and boycotting renewing so the message and action worked. Had that been down in the Premiership the message would have made him change within hours

To be fair when we were in our way up to prem and even in the prem is wasn't the rite time I'm glad we came down out of the spot light so much. But hey could still be one big tan spin from the start. He has really put us on the map.

Of course it was the right time but better late than never
Fri Jan 09, 2015 12:27 am
Your wrong as there was thousands waiting to take the seets to see thier prem team. Tan would have only seen it as a victory.

only 6% renewing STs... if that's not a boycott...

Nonsense not every game was a sell out. But remember there was a season in the championship before then so had a boycotted happened from the start then it wouldn't have gone on for three years

That championship year was amazing. The buzz was great. I personally, naively thought we would be back blue for the prem. but hey guess we should have all listened to you...

People are saying it was only Colchester and not many would have attended anyway, but it was the perfect game for it to happen. Week in week out Tan and his cronies were laughing at the likes of me (ST holder but boycotting) as they already had my money. They didnt give a toss for the blue protests in the ground either.
Then Colchester.....to see 30000 empty seats for a first team game on TV must have scared the life out of him.It was the shape of things to come.

Don't usually agree with you, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that Tan changes his mind 6 days after the smallest crowd ever at the CCS.
Fri Jan 09, 2015 7:58 am
You mean a shit FA Cup draw changed his mind! Whatever did it I'm a happy man today.

Colchester was the final straw, but the #nobluenorenew campaign won the day

Colchester game provided a glimpse of what could happen.
Dropping off like flies, Tan was up there with Gerald Ratner on how to ruin your business customer base.
The STs (whether they go or not) masked the issue that was unfolding
#nobluenorenew and that game have been instrumental.

Agreed and sorry I didn't explain myself properly but when I say masd boycott I do mean both the attendance of the game and the refusal to buy tickets

To be fair, there were loads on here saying the same thing.
What has happened though has happened. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Everything for a reason.
Who knows, it may in some twisted sort of way work out a lot better for us ?

At the being there were very little saying that because it was the Championship winning season, then people wouldn't do it because it was the Premiership so just because it's me stop attempting to say otherwise

Same with me. Everyone wanted to tell me I was an idiot for saying you shouldn't turn up

Lol, I think your giving yourself a bit too much credit and self importance here.
You were not the only one saying it.

The Colchester game might have been the tipping point but the momentum has being building up for 15 months since VT went head to head with the fans over Malky.
When the team were winning games in the promotion season the "blue" group were marginalised by the club. The balance started to change with the Moody sacking, which at the time confused people. With hindsight if VT had been more upfront about his issues with Moody and Malky then this might have played out differently.
Since then the club have made a myriad of errors and as Forever Blue has said on many occasions "lost its soul".
